I can't really complain. I have three days off, starting today. I haven't had consecutive days off since my last vacation in March. Today is just for lazing around and doing whatever comes to mind - maybe catching up on some reading I've been putting off (Tolkien's Children of Hurin).

Pittsburgh, the closest Ikea to us

Is the one in Canton, MI really not closer than Pittsburgh? The day that sucker opened was almost the best day of my life--before that I'd been going to Toronto to get the Ikea fix. What is it about that store that makes people willing to drive hours!

The one in Canton is slightly further from me than the Pgh store.

Yeah, Ikea is kind of always a madhouse, especially on the weekends. I just stopped going to the one in Chicago because there were always an overwhelming number of people (and children) there. I think there's talk of building some in OH, but I have no clue when that might happen or how long it might take?

Did you call me over the weekend? I don't see missed calls until much later unless you leave a message - there's no flashing light when I just miss a call.

Yeah, I think I called yesterday. No particular reason.

I'm having the dog-debate again.

Ikea's inability to build a store in Ohio has always amazed me. When I lived in DC, there were 2 within an hours drive and now that I'm in SoCal, there are 3 within an hours drive, including one that I can get to within 10 mins, depending on traffic lights. When I lived in Cleveland, I made the pilgramage to the Pittsburgh Ikea more than once, but it seemed so impractical. And there were rumors of one being built in Cincinnati when I left, 2 years ago. I guess that fell through...

Man, I love IKEA. 95% of my furniture is IKEA and I need to go back soon cause I need more stuff. Have you enjoyed their $1 breakfast yet?

I remember, way back, when IKEA was featured in The Amazing Race. I was so surprised to discover that IKEA was a rarity in the US (at the time). I've got 3 stores within a hour's drive.
