Another busy night. Painted the entryway. Hung some more pictures. One grouping without panels, one with...but skinny panels (more like stripes) so the pictures look they're hanging on ribbons. It's kewl. Cleaned and straightened the den

I'll second most of those (except the disposable trays one-- I've never had a problem with those) and add:

It always takes longer than you think it will.

and

It always takes more paint than you think it will.

Also, when hanging pictures/ art/ whatever on the wall, I always lay it out on the floor first to see the arrangement. Then I can fiddle with it and get it the way I want it to look.

I have a lot of painting to do (as soon as the kids start school) and I have an extension handle for my paint roller.

I already knew number 6 since I worked in an art gallery ;)

I liked the old layout better then the new one, must make me antediluvian too :) I just liked the color scheme better overall I think.

It occurs to me that you could put together a series of topics regarding DIY home projects that you could then pitch to your agent for a TV or cable show that deals with real-world people projects. The target audience would be people more inclined to see something they can do in their own home as opposed to all these shows that deal with massive home reworks on properties far too wealthy for the average person.

The show could also feature a recommendations section that includes a video segment version of your don't-go-to-Target-the-week-before-return-to-school voice post each week.
