The Interview of DOOM

Jul 20, 2005 22:33

This will be my one and only post on this subject. I am heartily sick of fandom sniping, from ANY shippers, and I wish to be as far away from all of it as I can possibly get.

Lori's Thoughts )

hp: books, fandom: wank, fandom: crazy people, fandom: shipping, writing: essays

Thanks, Lori. Cogent, rational, logical, gracious, and correct as always.

Let's go play in the H/Hr sandbox.

Might I add that a new chapter of HWATF would do much to bolster the flagging spirits of some folks?

I wish more than I can tell you that I had one ready or nearly ready. I've barely begun. Maybe I ought to have a nice long writing marathon this weekend.

Just found your cookie from 7.18. I haven't been online much with my bloody insane summer job. It's a wonderful, wonderful little scene. I'll give it a plug to my H/hr friends.
Thanks.

*applauds heartily* I couldn't have said it better.

Graciousness and maturity is always the better road to take.

Paradigm of Uncertainty, incidentally, is the very first Harry Potter fanfic I ever read, back in 2002, and here I am, still going strong in the fandom! I actually prefer H/Hr to R/Hr, but have come to appreciate both in different capacities, and there's so much to explore, so many different twists on canon to take . . . why be sad or wanky? That's why we have fic.

JKR is the author. Thank you for saying this. It disheartens me greatly to see certain fandomers engaging in utterly appalling behavior on both sides of the issue. Neither sore losers nor sore winners are appealing in any way.

Thank you for your words.

I must admit that I'm still hurting after that interview, but your thoughtful comments on the whole situation are like a bright, shining beacon in the seeming darkness that has engulfed my world.

It is something to hold on to; as far as I am concerned, it is a life preserver thrown to which to cling to.

And, quoting from your own words:

"And now, if you'll excuse me... I have some fanfiction to write."

Right back at you.

;)
