Lewis & Clark factoid dump

So today's Netflix streaming viewing has been the Ken Burns docu about the Lewis & Clark expedition (yes, I'm DVRing the Prohibition one to watch later). It was very interesting.

I was just watching that on Netflix the other night...fascinating! I love Ken Burns documentaries, too. If you've never seen his "Baseball" documentary, watch it (it's a long one in many parts like "The Civil War" but totally worth seeing)...it's also on Netflix.

I love Ken Burns - every couple months I have a Civil War marathon and I just finished The War. Will have to rent Lewis & Clark from the library. Thank you!

I would love to know what this novel is that fictionalizes Lewis being in love with Clark. Sounds interesting. :D

I'm not sure I would necessarily consider ages 30 and 34 as "young men" in those days. They could have almost been grandfathers by then - young grandfathers, but certainly possible.

Overall, the documentary sounds pretty cool. :)

When I was in 7th grade I was, like, hella obsessed with Lewis & Clark. Fascinating stuff.
