Damn, now you've gone and made me want to watch this. Fortunately, it seems to be on frequently enough that I should be able to DVR it even if it's on opposite something else.

This was not only highly accurate, but highly entertaining!

I've wondered if Top Shot contestants are going to start voting people into the elimination round strategically rather than based on performance or personality. For instance, an alliance puts in two strong competitors knowing that one of them will have to go home. At some point in time, they have to compete head-to-head for the grand prize, so it's in their best interest to get rid of the competition eventually.

I actually hope this doesn't happen -- I really like the "may the best person win" approach.

I've been watching season 1 after downloading it, and there's been some pretty ruthless strategic elimination voting early in the competition. The Blue Team won the first three challenges so didn't go to elimination for a long time, long enough to know that they had a very clear weak link, Jim, and also a very strong dominating competitor, Iain. The first time they had to nominate for elimination Jim put himself up, but instead of putting up the second weakest link they put Iain against him. Iain himself practically insisted, claiming he felt bad for a poor performance in the first challenge, but it was blatantly obvious that they all really wanted Jim gone because he (legit did) weaken their team, so they put him against Iain to make damn sure he got sent home.
