OH GOD! I was hoping you hadn't seen that episode, if only because of the Jules Verne scene.

glad to see you've made it to the other side of it.

I dunno if Astrid is supposed to be a deliberate acronym of TARDIS: it's an established name. Could be, though, as could the hand. I just thought it was to show that Bishop is.... freaaaaaky.

You'd think I would have seen that coming, considering their plan, but no. I realize just in time and look away as soon as they start. I'm flakey about those things. Sometimes with mild stuff, (like a close up on the eye) I'm okay, just squirmy and look away. Sometimes with mild stuff and always with violent or not-normal looking stuff I'm bad and occasionally I'm screamy/hyperventalatey.

I love Walter!! I love both the Bishops, actually. :) :) :)

I'm going to think that it wasn't random name choice, as that makes me happy.

Interesting theories on the Fringe site. Obviously the first set of number was Fib. Sequence (1, 2, 3, missing 5, etc) but the second set of numbers someone said was neurological and theories abound as to how it relates to missing medical records... Oh, the Fib Sequence and pi both being short a number triggered some speculation, too. :) :) LOVE the fans. Woot!

yeah: I doubt that it's an accident that the fifth decimal place of the pi sequence and the five were omitted. I noticed that the five was gone from the fib sequence, but I didn't catch the "pi" thing: he spoke it correctly to four decimal places, five digits all told, and called it "pi to five places" so maybe they both have a "five" issue similar to king Arthur's. ;)

As Astrid's last name is Farnsworth, I'm thinking less and less that any names are unintenional. I mean, what an awesome and yet inappropriate name to give a lovely young lady engaged in super-science?

Three! Three, sir! :)

And thanks for inspiring me to look up Philo Farnsworth. :) I would *never* have caught that.

I cannot wait for the next episode! I loved LOST for similar reasons. :) :) :)

Saw the first episode, thought it was pretty much a formulaic XFiles clone. I'll see if #2 improves any.

Monkeys and I were hooked after the first episode when the cow was watching Sponge Bob.

I have grown extremely attached to Walter and his son. The son seems to have our sense of humor. :)

I also really like the Fed friend (can’t remember his name) for some reason I haven’t figured out yet and the Homeland Security guy just because I’m amazed by his chin. Actually, I really *like* how everyone is playing their characters.

Monkeys added "if I like the characters, I can overlook a lot" :)

I wasn't fascinated by them myself, but I totally agree with the sentiment.

I'm glad you wrote about it! I hadn't heard of it but I looked it up on Youtube and it's freaking great!!
I LOVE the characters! I love the quirkyness of the "Dr. Frankenstien" idea, and his son not knowing exactly what kind of person his father is, but now they have to work together with a sassy cop lady.
I can definitely see this as an addition to our BBT/Dr.Who nights!!

Very much COOL!!!

Watched the second ep. Bleah. The characters are humdrum, particularly Olivia and Astrid (Threshold had a way cooler set of heroes, not that it helped any--for that matter Primeval on BBC has a livelier cast), and the stories are recycled X-Files/Strange World/pick your special government unit investigating stuff to secret to tell us.

Doesn't matter to me. I LOVED xfiles. Don't really give a fig if it recycles Xfile stuff... just another reason to love the show. Although i feel that anyone who really watched xfiles and gave it a chance for any length of time will certainly see that this show has it's own special charms. :D

Wish I could be around to watch this with everyone.

I thought you didn't like Xfiles enough to watch any of the episodes?

I have a college friend who spoke about it a lot. And it's hard not to absorb some sense of the show because it was such a big hit.
