Jim loves pizza casserole. Mom made it for me last year.

Bottom layer is mac&cheese. Then a layer of browned ground beef (I use turkey now - so sad!). Over that goes your pizza sauce. On top of that goes your pizza toppings, and then on top pile on a layer of cheese.

I think sometimes mom put the pizza toppings on top of the top layer of cheese (like, well, pizza), but I liked it best when they were under the cheese, sort of like a surprise.

These days I also add a little hot sauce and some mushrooms to the ground beef layer.

Nummy!!

We usually use ground turkey too (or chicken, depending what's on sale). Most things we use ground meat for are so thoroughly seasoned (tacos, spaghetti) that is doesn't matter what type you have. The flavor of the meat itself is not used.

btw, the is an italian eatery used up the road from us that is delish. I found it is run by a NY Italian family. So when you guys come up, Jim can have the good stuff. :)
