Over the last month in Australia, we have had two separate examples of art v child pornography.

I completely agree.

I saw a rather disturbing image recently in a parenting community. A friendslocked post of a baby in his nappy but no shirt. Because of the nappy you couldn't see his genitalia, yet for some reason somebody had photoshopped a blank box over his nipples as if somehow somebody would be ogling the chubby chest of a shirtless infant.

While I felt a little uncomfortable by another person who repeatedly posted pictures with her daughter's genitalia clearly visible in the photos, I think boxing out a baby's nipples is going a little too far. Perhaps one shouldn't go so far as to post an uncensored topless photograph of their teenage daughter on the internet, but while I wouldn't mind some censorship here I wouldn't call it or baby boobs sexual. I certainly don't bathe my infant son and think of sex.

So much common sense goes right out the window when it comes to this issue, it's frightening. And what are we teaching our kids anyway? That their bodies are viewed as good for only one thing, and that it's something horrible and perverse? I don't get it. My kids are/have been at an age when they love being naked or nearly naked. I have snapped many a picture because they are utterly adorable. I guess I should be thankful it's the age of the digital camera so I don't get arrested when some film developer reports me to the police.

It's not just infuriating, but very very depressing.

Guess I'd better go burn all those photos I've got of my girls in the tub!

I haven't seen the pictures, but here a teacher or counselor can't give a kid a hug when they need one.

I don't care. I give hugs. Sideways, or A-frame, and after asking, "Do you want a hug?" Not hiding, although a kid that sad often looks for privacy. I also give shoulder squeezes.

All contact or nakedness is not sex. Saying that it is make sex more important than it should be.

Censorship often makes something appear worse than it actually is.
Here's a censored version of a well known Julie Andrews song.

It's rather dull in town, I think I'll take me to Paree.
Mmmmmm.
The mistress wants to open up
The in Capri.
Me doctor recommends a quiet by the sea!
Mmmm, Mmmm, wouldn't it be loverly?
Eliza All I want is a somewhere,
Far away from the cold night air.
With one enormous ,
Aow, wouldn't it be lovely?
Lots of for me to eat,
Lots of making lots of heat.
Warm face, warm hands, warm ,
Aow, wouldn't it be lovely?
Aow, so lovely abso-bloomin'- .
I would 'till
over me .
Someone's resting on my ,
and as he can be. who takes good care of me,
Aow, wouldn't it be lovely?
Lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely
