In my entire life, I've only met one other person who's name was Marlene, and she was a secretary in Venezuela. I recently started watching The Big C on Showtime, and one of the supporting characters is named Marlene. I find it very distracting and uncomfortable.

Yup, it was the same, which was odd seeing as how she was Latina.
