Kickstarter

There are distinct prospects for me to do a Kickstarter project for open source software and get backing; see the discussion. I know next to nothing about Kickstarter, though. If anyone reading this has Kickstarter experience, can you offer any tips or pointers to tips?

I've just bought and downloaded it from Smashwords. (Yay for no DRM!)
