This is the first Sunday in almost a year where I wasn't crafting a letter of application for a job. What to do with myself? ;)

I got a job! a *new* job! a job that pays $14,000 more than the other place and has regular hours - no more working past 6:00! - and summers off and 10 days at Christmas, etc ( Read more... )

OWH WOW!! Congratulations with the new job!! I am so very happy for you!! Regular hours, proper holidays, proper pay - sounds pretty darned good. Looking forward hearing how it all will pan out.

I didn't work in any of the residences. I worked at the Honickman Center in North Philly helping to run the teen after school program.

They just hired a bunch of new people. Good luck to them. Proj HOME does great things with the homeless but the kid and teen programs are run poorly and basically .. . stink. Completely bad deal for the kids.

No surprise they have a huge staff turnover too. No one can live with that kind of stress and poor management for longer than a year or two. I made it 1.5 years.
