Springfling - Come and Play

Mar 20, 2019 16:41

This is such a fun challenge, and I urge to check it out and sign up! spnspringfling "...is a rapid-fire, double-blind, anonymous exchange challenge, in which you have a brief set of prompts, a week to create your fic/art/vid, and a lower AND upper limit on the size of your work. Short and sweet, like a spring fling!"

Bah, I have to decide fast if I think I can do this. D: It sounds fun and people seem to like it so much, but I'm not great at coming up with prompts and am concerned to end up with a prompt list I don't really want to write. *bites nails* I can't quite tell if I'm overthinking it and should just give it a shot or am sensing that it's not the right challenge for me. Aargh...

(That was a lot of waffling on your journal, heh. Whether or not I end up joining this year, I hope you have fun!)

I've done this challenge quite a few times and it's really fun, so I'd say go for it!! The prompts are quite broad and you can take them wherever you want with the pairing you chose, and the word count is nice and small too.

I'm putting together a few prompts now (I usually go with imagery, or sayings. But some people choose song lyrics), so I'll probably sign up tomorrow. But you still have a few days to mull it over. Take a look at the prompts already posted, and that'll give you a rough idea. You could also check out some old masterlists maybe.

Any queries, just ask, I'm happy to help!

That's a good point about the prompts being broad and the wordcount small, heh. I will take a look at what people have been prompting and see if I can put together a few I think are decent, and if so, I will probably join up.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice! <3

Your own prompts can be anything - the nature of it is that prompts should be short so you can't end up writing a synopsis for each one! And as far as filling the prompts you get, the only caveat is that you avoid the No list you're given, and everything else is up to you.

If you have a flick back through previous years you can see what wonderful things came out of it - I don't think you'll regret taking part if you do decide to go for it!
