The axe shatters into pieces along with Sam's heart.

Oh, poor Sam, you have captured how he was feeling at that moment so well. He felt so hopeless and useless, and Jared was so good in the scene, hunched down beside the Impala, showing how broken Sam was.

I loved the episode, although I agree with you that Jack didn't seem ill enough to suddenly die. It was very moving to see TFW's despair when Jack died, then their joy when he was returned to them. The scenes between Jack, Kelly and Cas were very moving, too.

Thank you so much for your kind words! There was a lot of emotion in this episode, and I really enjoyed seeing how they all coped with Jack death, and then having him back. Take care :)

Poor Sam, he felt that he couldn't even cut down the trees right, axe breaking and then he could do nothing. I loved your last line especially, it reflects perfectly how Sam was feeling.

While Jack's death seemed to happen a little out of the blue

Rowena said in the last ep that sometimes Jack would seem fine, and but then his body would give way, and he'd die. So, I expected that it could happen at any time.

Same here, I enjoyed this ep a lot. :)

I did love seeing Sam cutting the trees down and then looking so lost and grief stricken by the Impala, and I selfishly wanted more of it! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Take care and thank you for all your lovely words :)

I selfishly wanted more of it!

Me, too! This scene gave us so much insight into Sam's feelings, and that's something I wish the show would give us more of.

You're very welcome! I always enjoy your lovely writing♥
