I really liked the episode too - it was a bit of a rollercoaster Sammy one! Your drabble's totally caught the Sad Beard part!

There was so much to enjoy, even the little things like the way Sam held a beer to his eye in the bunker, and how threatening Micheal felt when he held Jo's chin.

I am a big fan of Sam and his beard, and then I started wondering if it was Dean who taught him to shave and how maybe that's another reason he hasn't shaved yet *sniff sniff*

What a great moment! Of course Dean taught Sam how to shave! And now it's one more thing that reminds him Dean is gone. Very poignant.

Sam's grief beard really is glorious, and I couldn't help but write this, because of course Dean would have taught him to shave, and of course Sam would remember that, especially now. Thank you for stopping by lovely :)

My first remarks upon watching the episode were "Sam's hair and beard is looking good this season!" Shallow, I know, but I just went straight to the pretty! Re beard, I simply figured that if he ever got a spare ten minutes he used it to sleep, rather than shave. But nice to think there's perhaps a poignant reason too. :)

I know exactly what you mean, and I'm right there with you, it was a very pretty episode!!! I think time is the reason for Sam's beard, but I liked the idea that it could also maybe run a little deeper, that maybe whenever he tries to do, he struggles with his memory of Dean teaching him. After that, I just had to play around with the idea for this drabble. Thank you for stopping by. Hope all is well with you :)
