Ask me why I break my 'LJ break to pull myself together' only to read THIS thousand(!) word punch to the heart, and then collapse into a puddle of tears and sadness? I didn't think reading anything about Jess and how Sam loved her could affect me anymore. Boy, was I wrong. That last line especially--I feel like that when I wake up from a dream about my mom.

I'm so very touched and honoured that my little fic could leave such an impression, but I think we can all relate to Sam's grief, and I guess that's where the power of it lies.
