I think you got Dean's emotions and Sam's careful talk down perfectly. That's exactly how I imagine they might talk of the situation with Jessica.

Getting the boys to talk is always a challenge, but I wanted to explore the demon's revelation that Sam went engagement ring shopping because that must have been hard for Dean to hear. I'm really happy to hear that this worked for you!

You have a soft spot in your heart for Jess, don't you! ;D Me too... This story reminds me of how surprisingly gentle Dean was with Sam in Provenance, talking in the bedroom... you captured that vibe perfectly!

I most certainly do, I just can't help myself! I think it's probably one of the reasons why the first series is still one of favs.

Thank you pointing out the Provenance conversation because I was trying to channel Dean's gentle coaching and understanding from that episode. It's not often that we see them talk on this show and I wanted this to feel as Winchester as I could, without going too crazy with the chick click moment!
