Yes... kind of. For a short while. Unfortunately, if you value your life, you should leave town and leave no forwarding address when the Winchesters show up. But she had a couple of good years... for Sam, it might have been worth it. :-)

I often wish that we got more screen time with Jess before she died, her relationship with Sam is kind of fascinating; did she really know nothing about his past or family? Did she ask him questions? And if so, did Sam lie or weave half truths...I could go on!

Thank you! I couldn't resist adding a little Dean in there too because you're right, it wouldn't feel like a spn fic without him!!!

I really do find Jess quite fascinating and I loved the prompt, especially as an idea for them to meet. I also wanted to slide in a reference to her baking skills and birthday cake seemed like a perfect fit! My belly's grumbling for cake now too!
