Thank you for stopping by - I'm really happy you enjoyed this. I was so darn happy to see Bobby again, seeing all the fatherly worry and devotion, and I just had to revisit that for this drabble.

I love the relationship Bobby had with his boys, and vice versa, it really was a family unit. While it was so great to see him again, it's also kind of bittersweet to be reminded that he's gone, but definitely not forgotten.

Love Bobby and Rufus! And I always think it's interesting the way Dean (especially) takes Bobby for granted...the way so many of us DO take our parents for granted. I get the feeling Dean never took John for granted and that...maybe says a lot about whose love he felt was unconditional. Thanks for this look inside Bobby's head. :)

That's a fascinating idea, and something I haven't really thought about before; how Dean did take Bobby for granted (and I think maybe be all did!) and how that maybe speaks volumes about how much loved him - oh the feels!!! I loved this episode, and when Bobby said "my boys" my heart melted! And your drabble captures Bobby perfectly - he may never have had his own kids, but he was Sam & Dean's 'dad' after John died - family don't end with blood, after all!

I have so much love and affection for Bobby, and I think he often showed that to the boys too, and I like to think that he had a much more softer heart to some other hunters, and maybe that's because of his fatherly bond to Sam and Dean. I love Bobby too and it was so lovely to have him back in the show. His love and affection for 'his boys' was so touching; I loved how he called them idjits and grumbled about them, but was always there for them. I've christened it 'gruff love'!
