I'm so glad you took this prompt and made such a fine fic out of it.

I guess the infamous Winchester stubbornness is a welcomed and positive trait in this instance! I really wanted them both to struggle, for Dean to feel like he's just coping and for Sam to worry about Dean maybe more than himself (because for me that's so very Winchester) but despite it all and through sheer stubbornness to find a glimmer of hope.
This was such an awesome prompt and it quite literally demanded me to write it, even before I formally claimed it I was drafting a plan. I'd love to revisit this time-line too, maybe if I spy another prompt?!
Thanks so much for reading, reviewing and prompting! I've really enjoyed myself. Take care

I' so pleased you enjoyed this, I was nervous as hell about writing and posting because I've never done a fic challenge before but even though I drove my beta insane with a thousand queries and freak outs, I did enjoy myself which is what its all about.
Thanks for stopping by my friend, I hope your well. Take care

Oh my, so heartbreaking, but lovely! This is the scenario rarely presented in Curtain fics, of a Dean barely able to manage Sam and his health while trying to support them financially. Very gritty and realistic, presenting a more realistic living situation for the Winchesters, once they gave up hunting. But, I did like how Sam had that moment of clarity, at the end, as the brothers discuss getting a boat. I think that they were able to regain that spark that they've always had, at least for a little while. Loved it!

I wanted this fic to have an element of realism and hardship, with the boys really struggling, not just with Sam's injury and mental state but also testing their relationship, really pushing it to its limits.
I'm so happy you enjoyed Sam's clarity in the boat scene, I wanted him to be able to understand Dean's position as well as support his brother.
Thanks so much for your awesome comments and by the way, I adore your icon! Take care

Bravo, love this, particularly all the things you let the reader fill in for themselves, such as that last hunt.
Well done xx

I'm pleased you mentioned the last hunt and the other loose ends. I actually drafted a time-line of how they got here and what happened in the last hunt etc but it didn't feel right for this fic to mention them in any detail - I wanted to jump straight into the here and now with the prompt. But I would like to revisit this one day and maybe fill in a few gaps or just wallow in all the brokeness!
Thanks again for stopping by and commenting - I really do appreciate it. Take care
