There are lots of love analogies, but I think my favorite is a tree. Fragile when young and growing. Sturdier over time as roots push down and bark toughens up. Always alive and changing. I had an incident awhile back during which someone bothered me during my walk to my office, asking repeatedly for money and eventually grabbing me inappropriately. Work made me fill out a police report, but I wasn't hurt, just unnerved. I have a $25 voucher for Lens Crafters / Eye Exam of California. I don't need it for anything. It expires before I'll likely need new glasses again. I couldn't use it to pay my eye exam in Washington, and when I tried to buy a case or a new cloth or something, I ended up standing around waiting for service until I gave up and walked out.
