RIP Robin Williams. Apparently he committed suicide. Damn.

RIP Charles Keating. I spent many happy hours watching him as Carl Hutchins on Another World. He was also on Port Charles during the unfortunate vampire storyline, and was very active in theater.

RIP Johnny Winter, Elaine Stritch, James Garner and Skye McCole Bartusiak.

Johnny Winter was a great blues guitarist.

Elaine Stritch, despite her other accomplishments, will always be remembered fondly by me as Beecher's "cunt" judge, Grace Lima, on Oz.

RIP Casey Kasem, who died today at 82. I used to spend every Saturday afternoon listening to him counting down the Top 40.

RIP Ruby Dee. OMG, this one hurt, too. She was a wonderful person and a great actress. My favorite roles of hers were Mother Abigail in The Stand, Mother Sister in Do the Right Thing, and Ruth Younger in the 1961(and best) movie version of A Raisin in the Sun. RIP Maya Angelou. This one really hurt. She was one of my personal heroes as well as being one of my favorite writers. Her legacy will live on, but the world won't be quite as bright without her presence.
