I have no idea who I had the following conversation with, but some guy was telling me about one of his relatives who fought off three different cancers. Cancer did eventually kill her, but it took the bastard more than twenty years. And she had many happy cancer-free years in between.
Not that I hope you develop four forms; if it turns out to be only two and you beat them both, that's good enough for me.
As for the work situation, Elouise's reaction reminds me so strongly of one of my old coworkers back when I worked for the engineering firm. She got laid off and she was so happy about it she was literally dancing in the elevator.
::hugs:: I hate how workplaces do these things. They demand more than can be done on time, and then punish you for bending the rules to get it done by working for free.
And the surgeon sounds like an okay guy. He wants to treat asap, but he also understands your need to know.
Take care of yourself, be safe, talk to J., talk to your doctors and don't let them rush you into anything until you understand it, give Jan the time you can spare without letting her take away time that you need for other things, don't let work add to all the stress you're already under. And most of all, remember that there are people out there who've never met you, but who love your courage and your spirit, and are sending nothing but good thoughts (and some hugs) your way. <3
