The good and the bad and holiday card thanks

First, the good. Betty had her follow-up visit with her surgeon yesterday, and he believes he got all cancer, and while he advised her to see her regular oncologist, he doesn't think she'll need chemo, because her lymph nodes are fine! I'm very relieved. And I got to babysit Flossie again. She was so sweet - - she stayed in my lap, asleep, most of ( Read more... )

rl, thanks

I'm so glad Betty is doing so well. That's great! =>}

Good luck with the job orientation. I really hope it works out for you. ::hugs::

That type of religious behaviour bothers me, too. Live and let live is the way I like it. *sigh*

Oh, that's great news about Betty - thank goodness!

And "huh?" about the church thing. See, that's why I choose not to associate with the majority of other Christians out there - because they work so hard at keeping themselves isolated from the rest of world, and refuse to expose themselves to any beliefs or value systems different from their own. And then pride themselves on their ignorance. It's just baffling to someone like me, who adores learning about all cultures and religions, and is just as glad to say (and hear!) "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Kwanzaa" as I am "Merry Christmas" or "Blessed Yule" or "Happy Solstice".

Christians need live in the world, not above it. So what if a store's not Xmas-friendly (and how is Target not Xmas-friendly? They sell tons of Xmas junk) - unless they're funnelling their profits into the Ku Klux Klan there's no good reason not to shop there.

Did it explain why they are 'non-Christmas friendly'? Is it because they aren't saying Merry Christmas? And when did what Christians think is the greatest holiday of the year make it okay to be rude to other beliefs?

I too miss the Merry Christmas. Hate the intenst need to be politically correct. Don't get me wrong on that, I don't want to offend folks, but can't we just say the greeting that apples to a particular day, without drama?

If anyone thinks their beliefs negate someone else's than they are in the wrong as far as I'm concerned. We should just agree to disagree and like like grown-ups not like 5 year olds on the playground.

*hugs you tight*

That is fantastic news about Betty. I can imagine how relieved you must be!

Good luck at orientation. I'll be thinking about you. You might need a little time to adjust to being back at work, but who knows, you might love it. And you know, if you don't? It's okay to feel that way, too. Just give yourself a little extra TLC. You can do it. :)

Glad you got your internet back. Yikes! Glad I didn't get caught up in the blackout.
