This seems fairly appropriate for today, even though it was taken a few months back. If cats had that sort of reasoning power Minor would be dancing on the tables right now for being proven right. About EVERYTHING. Shock. Horror. Etc.

Round toys aren't exactly scary, but Major is somehow offended by them and the others don't care for them much, either.

Squeaky toys are completely terrifying, though.

MAKE YOUR MOTHER LOVE THE DOG, SO WHEN HE GOES HOME SHE WILL MISS HIM AND WANT ANOTHER!

THIS IS MY NOT SO SECRET PLAN! I also plan to drag her on a walk with us to prove that you do get to walk when walking a dog (and I refuse to be embarrassed by the fact that I get winded walking a THREE-POUND DOG. HE'S REALLY FAST, OK.) and not just stop every ten steps.

Unfortunately my mother's not-so-secret plan is to point out all the things she finds annoying about dogs.

He slept under my blanket all night! And I didn't have to worry about kicking him because he'd just shift a little and settle down again! My cats usually get offended if I move at all and go sleep somewhere else.

My cats are so freaked out, though, even though they haven't really set eyes on him properly. When he whines downstairs, they try to hide somewhere upstairs. :(

Strangely enough she's a lot less freaked out by The Thing Downstairs than Major is. Or maybe it's just that she's at her usual level of freaked-outness, whereas poor Major K is usually all self-assured.
