The Physio at the GP's loaned me a more powerful one, that had nasty habit of turning self up[not good in middle of SF Writers Group]but it only had 2 electrodes, which unbalances things ( ... )

Thank you very much indeed for the info. Mine's a Tenscare Touch TENS, and the pads are very adhesive, which is good. Did manage to give myself a "surprise" when the wires became unplugged and I plugged 'em back in without turning the machine off while it was on a strongish setting...bit of an "aaagh!" moment there!
