(almost) totally textless

I guess you could say this batch is an exercise in cropping.  I used the same coloring for every icon and nearly no text.

Thank you! :) I just love it when Gary does that bow, so I had to make an icon of it!

Fantastic cropping, and I love the new layout.

Thanks! I wanted to do something a little darker and I found this layout and it was just perfect.

It's so hard with these videos to get stuff to look decent, so I was just trying to see if I could get it down to a size that would look good. Coloring is a whole different story cause you just can't go bright with these or they look terrible. I didn't want to add text because it just seemed to take away from the power of the image itself.

Videos -- definitely. I usually go for wide crops to dilute the noise a little. Coloring? Tell me about it. Black and white is an easy solution, but sometimes it's even hard to get that right!
POL's rare photos thread has tons of nice, pretty good quality pics, if you're on the lookout for some.

Yeah, I'm in there all the time picking stuff up. Unfortunately, RUG just doesn't take photos of the best scenes. You always get one boat shot, a couple of MOTN shots and some AIAOY. There's never any decent PONR or Final Lair pictures, and those are my two favorite scenes.

I just saw Phantom this afternoon, actually. My favourite part is when the chandelier falls. I like your icon, actually.

Thanks! Which production did you see? Broadway?

I saw the Nat'l Tour in Toronto. I didn't really like the show, just the sets and costumes.

Really? I've seen the tour countless times and have always thought the entire ensemble was miles better than Broadway. You've got the best Firmin and Andre pair you could ever hope for (Bruce Winant and D.C. Anderson), the best Carlotta in the history of the show and an amazing Phantom on top of it all.

I really love your icons, they are so beautiful. I am at my quota so I can't use any but I did save some for later.

Didn't you make the icons that said "Gary Mauer is my Phantom" and made them for each actor? I thought those were really nice and I personally think you should put those designs on cafepress.com and sell mini buttons. I would buy a ton of those, I think others would, too! :-)

Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that. You seem so nice, is it alright if I add you?

Thanks!

I did, they're in a couple of earlier posts (I made one initial ENORMOUS post of them and just did one of others that were requested). I'd wear a button with that one there, I'll definitely think about it, though I think you can only have one design for each item on Cafe Press.

Perfectly alright! :)

That would be a shame if Cafe Press will only let you design one thing for each item. You could make a pretty penny off of those buttons!

I added you, I look forward to reading more of your posts! I'm Katie, by the way :-) I saw you in stage_potoicons I think it was and that was how I found your work :-) I adore having Phantom fans on my friends list, they all know that I am really not crazy when it comes to all things Phantom :-)
