I want to sell this dress but I don't know what approximate decade to give it. 50's? 60's? The skirt is lined with a stiff almost cardboard like fabric like a super stiff stabilizer

I think it's late 1950s, very early 1960s (like up to 1962, but not beyond that, as the A-line had really taken hold). My mom had a similar dress to this, only in one of those bright aqua prints. This was of course meant to be worn with a crinoline (thus the extra stiff skirt liner, to make it stand out more and not crush the crinoline). I'd classify it as 1958-1962.
For those who love "Mad Men," this would be a perfect "Betty Draper at the evening country club event" dress.
I ditto mid to late 50s. I know Suzy Perette is pretty popular. Not sure for price? Maybe do a search on ebay for completed listings. Really pretty dress!
Kat, that is def mid to late 50's. I worked with a bunch of vintage stuff back when i was in Vermont doing theatre. I know exactly the paper stiffener you are talking about. Hell, i think i took that stuff out of several dresses on the designer's request. The dresses we had, vintage mind you, ran in price from $50 to $300. We had this cute little pink and white candy stripe halter that was purchased at $150. So hopefully that helps a little with price range. Have you googled the designer yet?
Thanks! Yeah, I Googled her before I wrote the post. Still tough to price it because nothing of hers I found was similar to what I had. I ended up deciding to go with the lower end of the price scale I saw for her dresses because my dress is not in excellent condition - missing a few buttons and some discoloration at the waistline.
