Awesome! I just got my first one, too. I didn't actually realize what it was at the time. I was actually watching when it appeared and it totally freaked me out.

I'm kind of irked that I missed the magical moment. I wonder if you get a music cue or a lag or anything like that?

I'm so bad with paying attention to the music cues.

I did get a slight lag, but my game is laggy in general with Pets, so I didn't think much of it. I was actually zoomed in and watching my horse (no idea why I was doing this, this makes me sound very lame). He was licking the salt lick, and *poof*. No music cue, just a kind of a jingly noise and a little sparkle, I think. I later learned that the gnome I got spawns when horses lick salt licks for more than 20 mins. or something, so it all made perfect sense. At the time, though, I had no clue what was happening. Poor horsey's social meter had just about bottomed out at the time, so at first I thought it was some kind of horse Social Bunny or something!
