I first read The Call of the Wild when I was about 12. One of my favorite books from chldhood along with Black Beauty.
I've read some YA novels that were better then some adult novels. I've got a few titles running around in my head that I could put on this list.
I may have to do this meme.
Running With Sissors....good book. You should read the one his brother wrote: Look Me In The Eye: My life with asperger's by John Elder Robinson. Also very good.
I'll admit, I had a knee jerk reaction to avoid it. I'll have to move it to my "maybe" list now.
(and I got to hear Burroughs read from Running with Scissors--he read the part about the prophetic poo--my friend and I laughed so hard we were weeping!)
I'm going to have to look for this Peppermint story. I'm very curious!
I've read a lot of these, especially the dog books. Others I've never heard of, like Jesus Land and Running With Scissors. I'll have to look those up too.
I had quite a few kids books on my list too, plus books that weren't meant for kids per se, but still influenced me as a kid.
