I mean, it destroys the fundamental assumption that rich people are EVUL! because being a cold-hearted bastard is a requirement to being rich - when it's a personal choice, instead.

But, but, but..doesn't this help you get a flutter of hope for humankind - that we're such rotten beasts and still manage something decent somewhere, sometimes?

(also: I used the words "Heir" & "Heiress" because it seems that most of those inherited their wealth or added their earnings to an already "silvered" spoon)

I dunno, while it's certainly nice to see some social responsibility from the upper crust for a change, my immediate reaction is more like, "see, you are capable of acting like decent people! So how come you act like jerks 99% of the time?"

In other words, I'm afraid my misanthropy is too sturdy to be shaken by the occasional statistical anomaly... ^_^;
