That was great^^
I never expected the end with Sam dead all this time, but I have to admit, Sam/Cas was also something new to me^^ And it wasn't bad^^

Although... it's kind of sad that Dean loves his brother so much that he imagined him all his life...

Thanks for braving a new pairing for me! It was new to me too actually. :) I love that the ending surprised you. I was hoping it would be a surprise.

Thanks!

I was reading along, awwwing at everyone loving on Dean, and then-

Woah! What a twist; that was mind-bendingly awesome! And also really wonderfully written, of course. ;D Great, GREAT job with the prompt.

I just really like that you said "loving on." *steals*

Mind-bending? Yes please!! Thanks for that, and thanks again for setting up the comm/challenge.

I have mad crazy love for you now. Thank you so much for this. You did an incredible job with a nutty prompt. I love the elegant sparseness of this coupled with how everyone, even the imaginary Sam, has such affection for Dean. Wonderfully, wonderfully done. :)

Yay! I'm really glad you liked it. It was a great prompt and I feel like there would have been so many ways to approach it and I feel like this approach maybe didn't address everything in there so ack. Sorry I couldn't work in the manflesh. I guess there could have been a scene where Sam and Cas were playing around on the other bed and Dean was sort of suddenly there too/instead of Sam. Yes. Yes we can say that happened. *shifty eyes*

Thanks for the gorgeous comments and for the brilliant prompt!

Bah - even with prompts like mine that just go on and on (and on!), I think prompts are just meant to spark an idea. I certainly never look at them like a laundry list of absolutes and wouldn't expect anyone else to either. Thus, it doesn't strike me as odd or sad or anything that you didn't address everything. You took the idea where you wanted it to go and did it brilliantly and beautifully. And, considering that I kinda knew that there was no Sam from the outset and still felt a little sucker punched? I'd say you're probably pretty genius.

Asolutely amazing. I'm glad you put the prompt at the end, because thet would have totally ruined it. The subtlety here was so so perfect. I got my first clue when he vomited the salad, and thought to myself... Dean doesn't eat salad, what? Then when Sam never came to take the thermometer, I realised something was wrong with Sam. When he suddenly wasn't there in the car, I was completely enthralled with the mystery. And before I even got to the answer, when Dean asked Bobby if Sam was real, I knew. Powerful stuff you have created here.

It's awesome of you to read and to comment and it's extra awesome of you to have noticed there was something up with the salad. Thank you so much! :)
