The snowday cookie bakestravaganza was a phenomenal success.  My enduring distaste for chocolate (thanks so so so much, Adlai and McGovern!) led to some branching out and trying of new recipes.  Madconsort, SOL, Robbie and I made

I'll have to check with SOL, as the Chai Snickerdoodles were her recipe/creation. She's sending Robbie over this evening so she can wrap his holiday swag while he's otherwise distracted, so I shall ask her then.

Her only Buffy gem thus far (halfway through season one) was "I don't get these vampires. You'd think after living for centuries they would understand the basics of good grooming. Or maybe all shampoo is secretly garlic based, so they can't use it."

Never fear! I wrote 300 words of the next chapter, too. I didn't mention it because I didn't want to write one of those flist-cluttering yesterday I did X, then I did Y, then I did Z style posts. But the next chapter is progressing!

Not Malfoy (do you honestly believe I could have held off five months without telling the flist that a Malfoy was taking such an *intimate* look at me on a reguar basis?). Think a bit less morally ambiguious (no book seven second thoughts for *this* baddie). And, um, completely insane.

The book in question was "The Condition" by Jennifer Haigh. Very good, very gloomy: just the thing for a good winter read!
