Wow - it's not often I finish re-reading a series only to find a new chapter has magically appeared! I wish this happened to me more often :)

I loved every bit of this. Seeing everything through Arthur's eyes added so much to the story and the way he came across - so earnest in his feelings for Merlin and determination to be good enough for him - was adorable. I mean, I already liked him in the other fics, but now I like him even more. And it was fascinating to fill in all the gaps so to speak - his 'research' and especially his uncertainty at the end (now we know why he didn't come round for a few days!). I should also mention that this was wonderfully warm and funny as well :)

And this line was just beautiful,

"It’s the way he catches Merlin looking at him sometimes, full of longing; the way Merlin will relax into Arthur’s touch if he’s tired or distracted or otherwise off his guard."

Hooray for timing! (ahahaha... yeah.) I know the feeling - it's always lovely when more appears unexpectedly. :D

And I'm so glad it was effective. It mostly happened because there were things to do with Arthur that I had in my head - the research, the trip to the sex shop, the insecurity about not being good enough in this incarnation - that I couldn't work in properly when it was Merlin's point of view, and I wasn't sure anyone else would actually, y'know, care, so it's lovely to hear that it added something worthwhile to the whole endeavour.

Thank you so much! :D

God I love this verse. (You've got a verse! You're writing in a verse, a very distinctive one, one you've created yourself!!) I love seeing Arthur's point of view in this. I hadn't really thought about that in detail, certainly not the part where Arthur is unsure if he's worthy of Merlin, if Merlin will love him for who he is now or mostly for how he remembers him, almost waiting for Merlin to realize this Arthur is not quite up to his standard and will be disappointed.

Technically this fic can be read without having read the other parts, although a lot will fly by those who'll try to do so and why the hell would anyone even want to skip the other two parts?! It's definitely way more fun to read them all.

That next part [...] will be along eventually, I swear!)

Oh yes please! I'll be waiting here, ever so patiently :D

Thanks for sharing.

Hee, it is rather exciting. :D Arthur's insecurity in that regard is something I've been wanting to work in for some time now, it's just never fit because everything else has been exclusively Merlin's pov and I could never see Arthur actually admitting to it. (There are seriously like six deleted scenes covering this topic. I was so relieved when I realized I could tackle it here instead.) I also have to alternately awww and laugh at the boy, because he's all 'oh no I'm not the king any more!' while completely failing to notice that Merlin is currently, y'know, an office worker rather than The Greatest Warlock Who Ever Lived.

I think I've finally found some momentum for that next part, so hopefully it won't be too much of an eternity before it's ready. :D

Thank you for reading, and for the lovely comment!
