Something made me pause in the midst of my Internet surfing today. I saw on my newsfeed that there's a Facebook group called, "People who prefer reading REAL paper books rather than e-books." And it disturbed me.

Paper books. Real books. Real paper books. Real.

Does that mean digital is unreal ( Read more... )

Obviously, the only read video format is betamax.

(And didn't you notice how absolutely no plays are produced anymore, and no musicals either. Nope. None at all. I blame those damn moving pictures.)

I actually almost brought up plays and film, except I had enough examples with VHS/DVD/blu-ray (and betamax) and records/CDs/mp3s. They're also different media instead of different formats, which was still applicable along the lines of "What can we be doing with ebooks that CAN'T be done with printed books?" but I was afraid that question would go a little too off-topic. I think the possibilities of this new digital format is something good for writers and publishers to consider, though. Maybe more storytelling along the lines of 5ideways?
