I'm pretty sure it has to do with sport, maybe what we would call tryouts?

Don't quote me on it. :) It could be a tournament or something...

You could have some of ours if you were nearer. We have orange, apple or cranberry. Or Ribena. *pours some down the Internet*

hahaha Fruit juice concentrate/cordial what do you call it? :D

I was trying to think of that last night. Maybe orangeade, if it doesn't have sufficient actual fruit content to legally be called "juice." Like if it's made from powder. But, at least in the US, we really don't have that fruity syrup concentrate that you mix with water, so I'm not sure there's a good corresponding term.

I hope you got your squash! It's terrible to be thirsty *and* have a craving late at night.

Alas No. I had to make do with water - and I hate our tap water - even though I've lived not far from here all my life I still think it tastes disgusting straight out of the tap :(

Ew, if you're that used to it and it still tastes bad, it probably *really* tastes bad. Not very thirst-quenching. Does boiling help the taste?

We have a filter jug which helps quite a lot. You hit the nail on the head with not thirst quenching - our water has so much chalk in it it sometimes leaves your mouth feeling powdery :(
