“MIRAI-CHAAAANNN!!!”
Mirai looked at her back, surprised.
“What is it, Yama-chan??”
Suzuka, who was beside her laughed. “What’s this? When did you became ‘Mirai-chan’ to Yamada?”
Mirai just shrugged, confused as well. This was the first time Yamada called her ‘Mirai-chan.’
Yamada finally reached them.
“I finally found you! I’ve been looking all over for you! Where’s my chocolate?” Yamada said, grinning.
“Chocolate?”
“It’s Valentine’s Day!” Yamada said.
“Okay, Happy Valentine’s Day, then.” Mirai said.
“Where’s my chocolate?” Yamada said, pouting.
“Why should I give you chocolate? I didn’t really make or buy any.” Mirai said, laughing at Yamada’s face.
“You’re mean! You wouldn’t even give chocolates to your own boyfriend!” Yamada said, seriously.
All the girls looked at Mirai, shocked.
But Mirai seems surprised as well.
“You’re my boyfriend?” Mirai asked, laughing a bit. When did that happened?
“Yes! Since second semester!” Yamada said, and this time he couldn’t help but laugh as well.
“Okay, then, Ryosuke-kun. I’ll buy you one after class, is that fine?” Mirai said, playing into the pretend.
“Yes, yes. As expected, my Mirai-chan is the best!” Yamada said, now full out laughing.
And so started their little game of pretend…

“Here you go, Ryosuke.” Mirai said handing Ryosuke a box of chocolate.
“Yey! You didn’t forget this year!” Ryosuke cheered, taking the box and opening it at once.
Mirai laughed at her ‘boyfriend's’ antics.
“Really, you two…” Umika said, giggling a bit. “You guys really amuse me.”
“They’re too lovey-dovey to be fake, but then again… the air around them is just too platonic.” Chinen said.
“Do you think so? I think they have good chemistry.” Yuto commented.
“Yeah, me too.” Suzuka added.
“That means we’re good actors.” Mirai said.
“Yeah, this’ll be good training, ne?” Ryosuke said.
“What if Yama-chan and Mirai get a drama together? That’ll be great!” Saaya said.
“Yeah, this shouldn’t be kept with just us.” Jingi said, laughing.
“By the way, Shida-chan. Did you make any more chocolate? It looks yummy.” Kamiki said pointing at the chocolate Yamada was munching on.
“Sorry, I only made that one.” Mirai said.

Ryosuke sighed. ‘This day, huh… This is really depressing…’
He was startled when something cold touched his cheek.
“Mirai-chan, you surprised me!” Ryosuke said after he’d gotten a look at what touched him. It was a box of chocolate.
“Why are you being depressed over such a wonderful day like this?” She asked. “Come on. The weather’s so good.”
Ryosuke sighed again.
“Oh, you haven’t gotten over her, have you?” Mirai said.
“Of course I haven’t! She broke up with me yesterday!” Ryosuke said.
Mirai laughed.
“Mou… Mirai-chan is so mean…” Ryosuke said.
“What are you saying? I even bought you chocolate! I wasn’t planning on giving you any this year since you have your first girlfriend and all but then Yuto told me what happened earlier so I bought you one. At least you received one this year.” Mirai said, still grinning.
“Mirai-chan… Next time, don’t try and cheer me up. It does the exact opposite thing.” Ryosuke said but still, he grinned at Mirai’s bluntness.
“But Mirai-chan, are you gonna be okay?” Ryosuke said.
Mirai looked at him in question.
“Wouldn’t you have a hard time to get a boyfriend, giving me honmei choco every year.” He teased.
“Are you implying something? I’m popular you know.” Mirai retorted.
“Celebrity-wise yes, but… Mirai-chan, the boys are scared of you…” Ryosuke said, grinning.
“That’s not true!”
“Yes, it is!” Ryosuke said, laughing now.
“Mou! I bet I could get married before you!” Mirai dared.
Ryosuke laughed. “Let’s make a deal, then. You’ll give me honmei choco every Valentines ‘til one of us get married.”
“That’s not fair, what would I get from this?” Mirai said.
“Then let’s make February 14 our ‘anniversary’ and both of us needs to give each other gifts on this day. The one who gets married last will have to name his or her first child after the other. When we’re already thirty years old and we’re both still single, then I’ll marry you.” Ryosuke said.
“Fine then!” Mirai said.
Ryosuke laughed. “Oh God, I need to get married before that.”
Mirai laughed as well. “Don’t worry, I’ll be married by twenty four. I don’t want my first child named after you.”

“Ryosuke! What are you doing here?” Mirai exclaimed after opening their front door. Ryosuke was there, about to press their door bell.
“Ah, Mirai-chan. I’m glad I caught you. Here you go.” Ryosuke said handing her a box.
Mirai laughed. “I thought you’d already forgotten that.”
“Of course not. Have you?” Ryosuke said, grinning as well.
Mirai took a box from her bag and handed it to Ryosuke. “Here.”
Ryosuke’s grin grew wider.
“I was on my way to work. You?” Mirai said.
“The same. Wanna go together?” Ryosuke asked.
“Sure.”

“Yamada-kun, someone is looking for you.”
Ryosuke trudged out the studio to find Mirai there.
“Mirai-chan! What are you doing here?” Ryosuke asked.
Mirai handed him two boxes of chocolate.
“I didn’t forget this year!” she said. “I marked the date in my calendar because you were whining so much last year. And I bought you two so I don’t owe you anything anymore, okay?”
Ryosuke laughed.
“Fine, fine.”
“Now where’s my gift?” Mirai demanded.

“Yama-chan, a package for you came in.” Yuto said. They were currently in their HQ.
“Who’s it from?” Yamada asked.
Yuto read the note and laughed. “It’s from Mirai-chan. Are you two still playing your pretend game? I thought Mirai-chan already had a boyfriend?”
“It’s from her? I wasn’t expecting one this year.” Yamada said taking the package. For sure, it was chocolate.
“’I already have a boyfriend, but I guess I got used to sending you one every year, so what the heck. Happy Valentines! There’s a lot, share them with the whole JUMP.’ The note said.” Ryosuke said.
He laughed. “Jeez, so I guess I have to send her a gift this year as well.”

“Mirai-kun, a package came for you.” Chie-san called. They were recently on location for Mirai’s drama.
“What’s the date today? Is it the 14th?” Mirai asked.
“Hai.” Chie answered.
Mirai facepalmed. “I forgot to buy chocolates for Ryosuke. Chie-san can we ask anyone to buy one? I need to send it to Ryosuke.”
“What is this about, Mirai? What about Rei-kun?” Chie asked, suspicious.
“It’s an ongoing bet between me and Ryosuke.” Mirai said, laughing a bit.
She took the package from Chie-san and opened it. Inside was a white dress.
“Not bad…” Mirai said looking at the dress. “I got a good hold this year. I’m gonna buy him a big chocolate…”
Mirai-chan read the note attached and laughed out loud.
‘Here you go. Hope you like it. Where’s my chocolate? By the way, we’ll be twenty four by May, I’ll be waiting for a wedding invitation.’
She smirked. She got a note and started writing on it, too.
“Chie-san,” she called. “Please include this in the package as well.”
‘Here’s your chocolate. I like the dress, thanks. I wanna be the godmother of little ‘Mirai-chan,’ okay?’
Valentines 2018
“What’s that, Ryosuke?” Chinen asked, pointing at the paper bag Ryosuke was holding.
“Ah. This year’s gift for Mirai-chan.” Ryosuke said.
“Eh? But isn’t Mirai-chan in America?” Chinen said.
“Ah!” Ryosuke said slapping himself. “It slipped my mind. Ah jeez, I even rushed to the mall to find a gift when I saw the calendar! I completely forgot.”
“Baka.” Chinen said, laughing.
Ryosuke scratched his head.
“But do you think Mirai-chan remembered? Hey, maybe she also bought a chocolate for you.” Chinen said.
“That’ll be better than remembering his stupid ex. But I still can’t believe she went out the country just ‘cause that idiot broke up with her.” Ryosuke said.
Chinen looked at Ryosuke but Ryosuke didn’t notice.
“Didn’t she go for Hollywood?” Chinen asked nonchalantly.
“Yeah, but she was still wavering ‘til that idiot… happened.” Ryosuke seethed.
Chinen smiled. ‘Stupid ex, huh.’
Christmas 2022
‘I really missed this city.’
Mirai walked through the almost empty airport laden with her suitcase.
That was to be expected. Only Chie-san knew she was going back tonight.
So it was a surprise when someone stood up and made his way towards her.
He was only a few steps away when she had recognized him.
“Ryosuke…”
He grinned at her.
“Okaeri. Mou, you’re really cold Mirai-chan; suddenly leaving and then suddenly returning without saying anything to your friends.”
“H-how did you know?”
He shrugged. “Chie-san told me.”
“By the way, you owe me five chocolates, Mirai-chan.” He suddenly said as he took Mirai’s suitcase. “But don’t worry. That’s the last ones, because I already have a girlfriend.”
Mirai smiled at that.
“I almost forgot about that. But Ryosuke, I’m still not backing up with the deal.” She said and then she raised her hand. “I’m getting married!”
Ryosuke dropped her bag. “Ehhhh???”
Mirai laughed.
“Ahhh! That’s sneaky! Jeez, I guess you’ll have to expect a little Mirai now…” Ryosuke said.
Mirai laughed more but she shook her head.
“No, you don’t have to name your first child after me. It was a stupid game after all, we need to stop this. And we’re turning thirty this coming year as well. Besides, the important thing is we’re both happy, right?” Mirai said.
“It wasn’t a stupid game. I had fun.” Ryosuke said.
Mirai smiled. “Yeah, me too.”
“By the way, will your fiancé fetch you tonight?” Ryosuke asked as both of them started walking out the airport.
“No… He’s in America. He’ll be coming soon, though.” Mirai said.
“Ah, then I’ll send you home tonight.”
New Year 2023
“What happened to you, Yama-chan? You made so many mistakes.” Yabu scolded. They were in the backstage after this year’s countdown.
“I’m sorry…” Yamada said simply.
Yabu dropped the subject at that. Ryosuke just seemed too down.
“Ryosuke, what’s with you?” Yuto asked after the others have left.
“It’s nothing…” He replied.
Yuto sighed. Ryosuke can be difficult sometimes. He decided to change the subject. “Okay, then what’s this I hear that you have a girlfriend?”
“I don’t have a girlfriend.” Yamada said.
“I know. That’s why I’m asking. Suzuka, Yuuka-chan and I met with Mirai-chan the other day. She said you told him you had a girlfriend. I thought you said you were going to confess to her once she returned?”
“I was going to confess to her, but she’s getting married Yuto!” Yamada exclaimed. Frankly, that was the reason why he’d been distracted lately.
“She’s getting married?” Yuto said, shocked.
“She is. She showed me her ring.” Yamada said glumly.
“What ring? Why didn’t she tell me and Suzuka?”
Yamada shrugged. “I don’t know. But you must have seen her ring. Gold band with an onyx.”
“Baka! That was Suzuka’s gift to her before she left!” Yuto suddenly said.
“What?? Then, she doesn’t- But why would she lie to me?”
“What exactly did you tell her?” Yuto asked.
“I told her I have a girlfriend-“
“Ahou!”
“I was going to confess! I was going to tell her we’d been going out for over a decade now! I was indicating her! I wanted to tell her I want to stop with the game cause for me it wasn’t a game anymore!”
Yuto didn’t reply at once.
Yamada was massaging his temples.
“I think Mirai-chan love you back…” Yuto said after a while.
“How did you work that out?” Yamada asked.
“Why did Chie-san told you and no one else, not even her family, that she was coming back? Maybe Mirai only told you that so you wouldn’t stick with your promise about marrying her when both of you are already thirty…” Yuto surmised.
“I don’t know what to think anymore!”

“Umika-chan, you’re here. Wait, I’ll call Yuri.” Yamada said.
“Wait, Ryosuke. I have something for you.” Umika said.
Ryosuke stopped and looked at Umika. Umika took something from her bag. It was a big box.
“It’s from Mirai-chan. She was planning on having it deliver to you but since I was going visit Yuri anyway, I told her I’ll deliver it to you myself. There’s a note inside.” Umika said.
Ryosuke opened the box and saw that it was chocolates.
He took the note and read it. ‘There are five chocolates here so I don’t owe you anything anymore, okay? I added one cause I heard about what happened to you and your girlfriend. I’m really sorry about that. I hope you’re okay. Mirai-chan.’
He smiled at that.
“I was there when Mirai wrote that so I’d accidentally read it.” Umika said.
Ryosuke looked at her.
“I didn’t know you had a girlfriend.” Umika said looking suspiciously at Ryosuke.
“Ah, yeah…” Ryosuke just said.
“By the way, can I ask advice from you?” Umika suddenly said.
“About what?”
“Well, it’s about this girl. She fell in love with the most stupid boy. They had been friends since they were kids so she didn’t realized when it started. She was already in too deep when she realized. But she had a boyfriend then. Immediately she broke up with him. But then thinking the stupid boy wouldn’t feel the same way, she took the first chance she got to go away and tried to get over him. It didn’t help though so she came back but now she doesn’t know what to do. What do you think? I don’t really know what to tell her.” Umika said.
Ryosuke looked at her wide-eyed.
Umika looked back innocently.
“Uhmm… well, maybe it’s time for the stupid boy to move…” He said softly.
Umika smiled. “That’s a good idea. Thanks Ryosuke. Is Yuri inside?”
Ryosuke nodded and let her in.
As she passed she said, “Maybe he isn’t that stupid after all.”

“SURPRISE!!!!”
Mirai jumped. To say that she was surprised was an understatement.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIRAI-CHAN!” Her friends all shouted and Mirai laughed.
“Thank you!!” She said to the room at large. She felt all her exhaustion had vanished. She came home from filming her first drama since her return.
They brought her cake and she blew her thirty candles whilst complaining that they didn’t need to rub in her face that she was already thirty.
Her friends had really prepared a feast for her. She was really touched. She’d missed this the most when she was in America.
She regrets that she ever went there. She had missed so many things. Yuto and Suzuka’s wedding for one thing (well, she was there but she didn’t get to approach them), Chinen’s proposal to Umika in National Television for another. She had even missed little Yuuka’s birth. And America didn’t really help her much. True, she was now an international celebrity and she have made many achievements while working in Hollywood, but Japan still is the best.
They had a blast in those last hours of Mirai’s birthday. Mirai couldn’t remember the last time she had been that happy.
Night came and one by one her friends departing.
“Mirai-chan, we need to go now. Yuuka had already fallen asleep.” Suzuka said.
Mirai nodded and hugged Suzuka. “Thank you.”
She also hugged Yuto and kissed little Yuuka’s forehead.
She accompanied them to her condo’s door.
When she got back, she realized everyone had already left.
She smiled sadly at that. She missed them already. She really can’t get enough of them.
‘Must be because I was away for so long.’
She started cleaning up.
After finishing with her living room, she proceeded to her bedroom. Some of her friends had gone to her bedroom.
She was surprised to find someone sleeping on her bed.
She smiled at the figure and approached her bed.
“Ryosuke… Ryosuke, wake up…” She patted him gently. He stirred.
“Hmmmm?”
“Wake up, Ryosuke. It’s late.”
He sat up, rubbing his eyes.
“Mirai-chan… where’s everybody?” he asked sleepily.
“They’re already gone. It’s very late now. You must be very tired to have fallen asleep with all the racket.” Mirai said.
"New drama..." he said sleepily.
Ryosuke looked at the clock and seems to completely wake up.
“Ah, I haven’t said it yet. Happy Birthday Mirai-chan! Safe, it’s still five to twelve.” He said.
Mirai laughed. “Thanks. Belated Happy Birthday to you, too.”
Ryosuke smiled.
“We’re both thirty now ne…”
Mirai nodded.
“And we’re both single.”
Mirai looked away. She didn’t really want to talk about that.
“So I guess I have to marry you, huh.” Ryosuke said nonchalantly. That hurt.
Mirai laughed. “Ryosuke, I told you we didn’t have to. It was a stupid game.”
“You don’t want to marry me?” Ryosuke suddenly asked.
“Huh?”
Ryosuke pouted at her. A thirty years old guy pouting shouldn’t be cute but Ryosuke…
“But we promised…”
“Yes, but it was out of a dare. Isn’t this too big a deal to be decided so impulsively?” Mirai said about to go out the room.
“But I want to marry you.” Ryosuke said.
Mirai stopped in her tracks. She looked back at Ryosuke and gasped.
He was holding a ring, kneeling in front of her.
“I love you, Mirai. I’ve been in love since years ago. I was stupid I didn’t notice at once but when you went away… I couldn’t take it. I need you by my side. Will you marry me?”
Mirai stared at him, unbelieving.
“I-I love you too, Ryosuke. Yes. I will marry you.”
Ryosuke grinned and pulled Mirai into a hug. He held her tight as if he didn’t have any plan of letting her go. Mirai started giggling to him.
“Ahh, I should have made the bet end a little earlier… We’re already thirty…”

‘Here you go. Hope you like it. Where’s my chocolate? By the way, we’ll be twenty four by May, I’ll be waiting for a wedding invitation.’
She smirked. She got a note and started writing on it, too.
“Chie-san,” she called. “Please include this in the package as well.”
‘Here’s your chocolate. I like the dress, thanks. I wanna be the godmother of little ‘Mirai-chan,’ okay?’
Valentines 2018
“What’s that, Ryosuke?” Chinen asked, pointing at the paper bag Ryosuke was holding.
“Ah. This year’s gift for Mirai-chan.” Ryosuke said.
“Eh? But isn’t Mirai-chan in America?” Chinen said.
“Ah!” Ryosuke said slapping himself. “It slipped my mind. Ah jeez, I even rushed to the mall to find a gift when I saw the calendar! I completely forgot.”
“Baka.” Chinen said, laughing.
Ryosuke scratched his head.
“But do you think Mirai-chan remembered? Hey, maybe she also bought a chocolate for you.” Chinen said.
“That’ll be better than remembering his stupid ex. But I still can’t believe she went out the country just ‘cause that idiot broke up with her.” Ryosuke said.
Chinen looked at Ryosuke but Ryosuke didn’t notice.
“Didn’t she go for Hollywood?” Chinen asked nonchalantly.
“Yeah, but she was still wavering ‘til that idiot… happened.” Ryosuke seethed.
Chinen smiled. ‘Stupid ex, huh.’
Christmas 2022
‘I really missed this city.’
Mirai walked through the almost empty airport laden with her suitcase.
That was to be expected. Only Chie-san knew she was going back tonight.
So it was a surprise when someone stood up and made his way towards her.
He was only a few steps away when she had recognized him.
“Ryosuke…”
He grinned at her.
“Okaeri. Mou, you’re really cold Mirai-chan; suddenly leaving and then suddenly returning without saying anything to your friends.”
“H-how did you know?”
He shrugged. “Chie-san told me.”
“By the way, you owe me five chocolates, Mirai-chan.” He suddenly said as he took Mirai’s suitcase. “But don’t worry. That’s the last ones, because I already have a girlfriend.”
Mirai smiled at that.
“I almost forgot about that. But Ryosuke, I’m still not backing up with the deal.” She said and then she raised her hand. “I’m getting married!”
Ryosuke dropped her bag. “Ehhhh???”
Mirai laughed.
“Ahhh! That’s sneaky! Jeez, I guess you’ll have to expect a little Mirai now…” Ryosuke said.
Mirai laughed more but she shook her head.
“No, you don’t have to name your first child after me. It was a stupid game after all, we need to stop this. And we’re turning thirty this coming year as well. Besides, the important thing is we’re both happy, right?” Mirai said.
“It wasn’t a stupid game. I had fun.” Ryosuke said.
Mirai smiled. “Yeah, me too.”
“By the way, will your fiancé fetch you tonight?” Ryosuke asked as both of them started walking out the airport.
“No… He’s in America. He’ll be coming soon, though.” Mirai said.
“Ah, then I’ll send you home tonight.”
New Year 2023
“What happened to you, Yama-chan? You made so many mistakes.” Yabu scolded. They were in the backstage after this year’s countdown.
“I’m sorry…” Yamada said simply.
Yabu dropped the subject at that. Ryosuke just seemed too down.
“Ryosuke, what’s with you?” Yuto asked after the others have left.
“It’s nothing…” He replied.
Yuto sighed. Ryosuke can be difficult sometimes. He decided to change the subject. “Okay, then what’s this I hear that you have a girlfriend?”
“I don’t have a girlfriend.” Yamada said.
“I know. That’s why I’m asking. Suzuka, Yuuka-chan and I met with Mirai-chan the other day. She said you told him you had a girlfriend. I thought you said you were going to confess to her once she returned?”
“I was going to confess to her, but she’s getting married Yuto!” Yamada exclaimed. Frankly, that was the reason why he’d been distracted lately.
“She’s getting married?” Yuto said, shocked.
“She is. She showed me her ring.” Yamada said glumly.
“What ring? Why didn’t she tell me and Suzuka?”
Yamada shrugged. “I don’t know. But you must have seen her ring. Gold band with an onyx.”
“Baka! That was Suzuka’s gift to her before she left!” Yuto suddenly said.
“What?? Then, she doesn’t- But why would she lie to me?”
“What exactly did you tell her?” Yuto asked.
“I told her I have a girlfriend-“
“Ahou!”
“I was going to confess! I was going to tell her we’d been going out for over a decade now! I was indicating her! I wanted to tell her I want to stop with the game cause for me it wasn’t a game anymore!”
Yuto didn’t reply at once.
Yamada was massaging his temples.
“I think Mirai-chan love you back…” Yuto said after a while.
“How did you work that out?” Yamada asked.
“Why did Chie-san told you and no one else, not even her family, that she was coming back? Maybe Mirai only told you that so you wouldn’t stick with your promise about marrying her when both of you are already thirty…” Yuto surmised.
“I don’t know what to think anymore!”
Valentines 2023
“Umika-chan, you’re here. Wait, I’ll call Yuri.” Yamada said.
“Wait, Ryosuke. I have something for you.” Umika said.
Ryosuke stopped and looked at Umika. Umika took something from her bag. It was a big box.
“It’s from Mirai-chan. She was planning on having it deliver to you but since I was going visit Yuri anyway, I told her I’ll deliver it to you myself. There’s a note inside.” Umika said.
Ryosuke opened the box and saw that it was chocolates.
He took the note and read it. ‘There are five chocolates here so I don’t owe you anything anymore, okay? I added one cause I heard about what happened to you and your girlfriend. I’m really sorry about that. I hope you’re okay. Mirai-chan.’
He smiled at that.
“I was there when Mirai wrote that so I’d accidentally read it.” Umika said.
Ryosuke looked at her.
“I didn’t know you had a girlfriend.” Umika said looking suspiciously at Ryosuke.
“Ah, yeah…” Ryosuke just said.
“By the way, can I ask advice from you?” Umika suddenly said.
“About what?”
“Well, it’s about this girl. She fell in love with the most stupid boy. They had been friends since they were kids so she didn’t realized when it started. She was already in too deep when she realized. But she had a boyfriend then. Immediately she broke up with him. But then thinking the stupid boy wouldn’t feel the same way, she took the first chance she got to go away and tried to get over him. It didn’t help though so she came back but now she doesn’t know what to do. What do you think? I don’t really know what to tell her.” Umika said.
Ryosuke looked at her wide-eyed.
Umika looked back innocently.
“Uhmm… well, maybe it’s time for the stupid boy to move…” He said softly.
Umika smiled. “That’s a good idea. Thanks Ryosuke. Is Yuri inside?”
Ryosuke nodded and let her in.
As she passed she said, “Maybe he isn’t that stupid after all.”

“SURPRISE!!!!”
Mirai jumped. To say that she was surprised was an understatement.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIRAI-CHAN!” Her friends all shouted and Mirai laughed.
“Thank you!!” She said to the room at large. She felt all her exhaustion had vanished. She came home from filming her first drama since her return.
They brought her cake and she blew her thirty candles whilst complaining that they didn’t need to rub in her face that she was already thirty.
Her friends had really prepared a feast for her. She was really touched. She’d missed this the most when she was in America.
She regrets that she ever went there. She had missed so many things. Yuto and Suzuka’s wedding for one thing (well, she was there but she didn’t get to approach them), Chinen’s proposal to Umika in National Television for another. She had even missed little Yuuka’s birth. And America didn’t really help her much. True, she was now an international celebrity and she have made many achievements while working in Hollywood, but Japan still is the best.
They had a blast in those last hours of Mirai’s birthday. Mirai couldn’t remember the last time she had been that happy.
Night came and one by one her friends departing.
“Mirai-chan, we need to go now. Yuuka had already fallen asleep.” Suzuka said.
Mirai nodded and hugged Suzuka. “Thank you.”
She also hugged Yuto and kissed little Yuuka’s forehead.
She accompanied them to her condo’s door.
When she got back, she realized everyone had already left.
She smiled sadly at that. She missed them already. She really can’t get enough of them.
‘Must be because I was away for so long.’
She started cleaning up.
After finishing with her living room, she proceeded to her bedroom. Some of her friends had gone to her bedroom.
She was surprised to find someone sleeping on her bed.
She smiled at the figure and approached her bed.
“Ryosuke… Ryosuke, wake up…” She patted him gently. He stirred.
“Hmmmm?”
“Wake up, Ryosuke. It’s late.”
He sat up, rubbing his eyes.
“Mirai-chan… where’s everybody?” he asked sleepily.
“They’re already gone. It’s very late now. You must be very tired to have fallen asleep with all the racket.” Mirai said.
"New drama..." he said sleepily.
Ryosuke looked at the clock and seems to completely wake up.
“Ah, I haven’t said it yet. Happy Birthday Mirai-chan! Safe, it’s still five to twelve.” He said.
Mirai laughed. “Thanks. Belated Happy Birthday to you, too.”
Ryosuke smiled.
“We’re both thirty now ne…”
Mirai nodded.
“And we’re both single.”
Mirai looked away. She didn’t really want to talk about that.
“So I guess I have to marry you, huh.” Ryosuke said nonchalantly. That hurt.
Mirai laughed. “Ryosuke, I told you we didn’t have to. It was a stupid game.”
“You don’t want to marry me?” Ryosuke suddenly asked.
“Huh?”
Ryosuke pouted at her. A thirty years old guy pouting shouldn’t be cute but Ryosuke…
“But we promised…”
“Yes, but it was out of a dare. Isn’t this too big a deal to be decided so impulsively?” Mirai said about to go out the room.
“But I want to marry you.” Ryosuke said.
Mirai stopped in her tracks. She looked back at Ryosuke and gasped.
He was holding a ring, kneeling in front of her.
“I love you, Mirai. I’ve been in love since years ago. I was stupid I didn’t notice at once but when you went away… I couldn’t take it. I need you by my side. Will you marry me?”
Mirai stared at him, unbelieving.
“I-I love you too, Ryosuke. Yes. I will marry you.”
Ryosuke grinned and pulled Mirai into a hug. He held her tight as if he didn’t have any plan of letting her go. Mirai started giggling to him.
“Ahh, I should have made the bet end a little earlier… We’re already thirty…”
