Ryosuke couldn't help but gaped at the majestic view before him.

It was as if he literally stepped into a painting.

The sun was already setting and the sky was tinged with orange and purple. Lights were already turned on in preparation for the night and these, the city, and the sky were reflected in the waters.

It was too beautiful for words.

For a few more minutes, Ryosuke had stood by the bridge and just watched as the sun say its farewell. Sighing, he looked down at his own reflection in the water and as always, he made a wish.

He tugged at his jacket as he started walking. It was already getting cold. Surely, fall is coming. It was a lot colder there in Italy than in Japan, but he was already used to it.

As it got darker, Ryosuke hurried to his hotel.

Another summer day,
Has come and gone away,
In Paris and Rome

As Ryosuke got to the end of the bridge, he saw a man painting and he stopped. It was a picture of a little girl dancing in a garden. At the sight, memories came rushing back to Ryosuke.

It was spring just after Yumi's 12th birthday. It had been a busy year from the first day. Yumi's first starring drama had been aired fall of last year and it had been a big hit.

Ryosuke had just got home from work then. He had changed clothes and immediately lied besides Mirai on their bed. It had felt as if he had just closed his eyes when he heard his daughter's voice waking him up.

Blearily, he had opened his eyes to see a blur of his daughter.

"Dad! Wake up!" Yumi said.

"Yumiko! Your dad is tired. Don't disturb him!" He heard his wife chided in whisper.

But Ryosuke already had groggily sat up.

"It's--" He yawned. "--okay, Mirai." He managed to say.

He then turned at his daughter, "What is it, Princess?"

"I wanna go sakura-viewing." She said, grinning.

"Sakura? Right now? It's still so early." Ryosuke said, managing to stifle his yawn.

"It's already noon." Mirai chimed in. Yumi shook her head in amusement.

"Is it?" Ryosuke asked and looked at the clock. Surely, it was already ten past twelve.

"I wanna go with mom and Aki-nii and Yuu-nii as well." She said.

"I think Aki's going somewhere today." Mirai said, looking at her daughter.

"Ehhh?" Yumi had exclaimed and she was out of the room the next second.

"Okay, I'm already up." Ryosuke declared and stood up. He knew he needed to 'save' his son from his daughter.

After freshening up, Ryosuke had descended their stairs to find his daughter pouting at a harrassed-looking Aki.

"But we haven't went anywhere together for so long now!" Yumi said, pouting.

"I'm really sorry, Yumi. I have to meet my classmates." Aki tried to explain.

"But--"

"Okay, how about this. I'll go now and I'll hurry so I can come back after around three hours, if you wanna wait for me.' Aki proposed.

At his words, Yumi's face brighten and nodded once. Aki sighed in relief and patted Yumi's head. "Okay, I really have to go now." He said, and then he noticed his father.

"Dad, I'll be going now!" He said and then hurried out their home.

"Take care!" Ryosuke had shouted at his son.

Just then, a sleepy Yuta had came out from the kitchen looking worst for wear.

"Yuu-nii! We'lll go sakura-viewing. Go get ready!" Yumi said, at once.

Yuta blinked. "Today?" He asked.

"Yeah! Today's the last day." She said.

"I'm sore all over. Our harucon had just finished..." He said tiredly. "Go without me." He said and proceeded to his room with Yumi following after him.

In the next hour, Ryosuke watched their daughter try and persuade their second son into coming--but overall it was mainly Yumi trying to keep Yuta awake. Ryosuke had tried to intervene but it would have been more productive if he had talked to Yuta's door. This went on until Mirai had told Yumiko to let Yuta sleep until Aki returns and then emphasized that everyone would go. Yuta had agreed to this at once, obviously desperate for sleep.

Yumi had left her brother alone for the next three hours and then barged in his room once again, telling him to get ready. Yuta had grudgingly did so, but lied down the sofa right after changing clothes, still trying to squeeze in some sleep. The family waited for Aki but it was another hour before Aki had called saying he still couldn't go home. Stubbornly, Yumi had still insisted to wait.

But it was already past 6 when Aki had mailed and said that he was on his way home.

Ryosuke's heart broke when he saw his daughter's downcast eyes. Mirai had immediately went to her then and placed an arm around her.

"Oh, baby, I promise we'll try and go next time, okay? All of us." Mirai tried to say.

Yumi only nodded, though still looked undoubtedly sad.

"Okay," She said. "I'm going to my room first..." She said.

Mirai watched as her daughter go and then looked at Ryosuke.

Ryosuke smiled at her and then took out his phone.

-

Ryosuke knocked on Yumi's door three times.

"Yeah?"

Ryosuke opened the door and saw her daughter lying on her bed, back turned from the door. Ryosuke walked towards the bed and sat. He placed a hand on her head. "Princess..." He called.

He waited for a while and Yumiko turned to him.

She looked at him and then sighed. "I was thinking I didn't wanna work anymore." She suddenly said.

Ryosuke was surprised but replied all the same. "Well, it's up to you, Princess. But are you sure?" He asked.

"I was thinking it. But I thought it wouldn't change anything much and I really love acting." She clarified.

"What wouldn't change?" He asked.

Yumi was quiet for a while, and then she looked up at Yamada. "I still wouldn't be seeing you guys as much." She said. "You and mom are very busy of course. Mom has dramas every season, and with you and JUMP's shows and there's still your dramas and concerts. Aki-nii's time is filled with university and with his modelling. And Yuta-nii's been so busy since he debuted last year."

"Princess..."

"I just wanted a day with you guys, I guess. Miko-chan told me she and Aunt Miyuu and Uncle Ryo went sakura-viewing the other day..." She softly.

Ryosuke stood up. "Well, let's go somewhere, then." He said.

Yumi looked at him. "Go where? It's already 8 in the evening."

"Come on." Ryosuke urged, pulling his daughter up.

Yumi followed Ryosuke out to their backyard.

"We can go sakura-viewing here instead." Ryosuke said.

"But there's no sakura here." Yumi tried to say, but then suddenly something small fluttered down her nose. It was a sakura petal. Yumi's eyes widen and she looked up. More sakura petals were flowing from above. She looked at Ryosuke in wonder. Ryosuke pointed up.

Ryosuke smiled as he heard his daughter giggling upon discovering that it was Aki who was dropping petals from their rooftop.

Yumi turned to her dad and hugged him. Just then music started and the two turned to see Mirai and then Yuta, with his speakers. It was a piano piece. Inoo's. It was a gift for Yumi's last birthday; a composition dedicated specifically for his goddaughter.

Yumi beamed. Following through, Ryosuke had bowed down and offer a hand to Yumi, asking for a dance. Yumi smiled and took his hand. For a while they sway, and in a bit the petals stopped falling and Aki had joined Mirai and Yuta by the backdoor.

The music changed and Aki, grinning had asked for his turn for a dance. Ryosuke let him and went to Mirai. He laughed as he saw Yuta change the music into his band's debut song and then joined his siblings in dancing.

Mirai turned to him with a smile. "Not very original." She commented.

He shrugged. "It worked."

Mirai laughed and kissed him gratefully.

Ryosuke realized he was staring at the painting. He sighed and continued to walk, feeling so discontented.

He really misses his family.

I want to go home

---

Ryosuke stopped in front of the store. He had seen a beautiful hat that would surely suit Mirai. It was just one thing that was common with the two of them, they liked collecting hats. He had taken the one that caught his eyes; it was a cream rustic ramble hat. He was sure Mirai will love it. He had taken a look at other hats as well. He had bought three more, a pink summer hat for Yumi, a fishman cap for Aki and a baseball cap for Yuta.

Feeling satisfied at his purchases, he exited the store to continue his walk around the city.

He was in London. He had arrived a week ago.

He smiled as he spotted a koi pond. There were many people around the pond, it was a bit hard to find a good spot. But still he searched, stopped when he found at least an area where he could freely see the koi and took out his camera. He took some shots, imagining how Yuta would have looked if he saw this.

The Yamada Household could have been called a zoo in its own right. Ryosuke had always love animals, of course. Mirai was very fond of dogs, especially toy dogs. Like Mirai, Aki had a soft spot for dogs, but he prefers big ones like huskies and labradors. Yumi, on the other hand, preferred cats. And Yuta, unexpectedly liked fishes.

It was almost like Yuto's weird fascination with insects. He remembered when Yuta was still in grade school, during their field trip. He had went home with damp hair and newly bought clothes. He had told a demanding Mirai that he had seen a river during their hike and had spotted some fish. He had wanted to take a picture of them and, not watching his steps, he had fell in the river.

Ryosuke chuckled at the memory.

Mirai was so mad then, he had remembered, because all of Yuta's things were soaking wet. All except his camera.

That was another similar thing his son and his godfather, Yuto, had in common. They both loved cameras.

Ryosuke's smile became somber as he looked at the camera on his hands. It was Yuta's. It was his first camera. It looked very old now, there were scratches, and it was very outdated, but Ryosuke wouldn't use any other. It was one more thing that connects him to his son.

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone

"Yama-chan?"

Ryosuke turned around at the call.

He grinned, pleasurably surprised, as he saw Keito.

"Keito!"

"It is you!" Keito said, as enthusiastic.

Keito had walked towards him and clapped him on the back.

"You didn't tell me you were in the country!" He said, indignant. Ryosuke laughed.

"Sorry. But this is great, I didn't think we'd meet." Ryosuke said.

Keito had then invited Ryosuke for a coffee. Ryosuke had taken the offer.

"So how are you?" Ryosuke asked as they waited for their orders.

"Good. Though, it's a bit quiet around the house now. I've actually just dropped off Akane and Aoi in the train station. It's the start of the semester." He explained.

"Oh yeah, how are the twins? How old are they now, sixteen?"

"Seventeen." Keito corrected. "It's their seventh year in school. It's a dorm school so they only come home during winter break. And with Airi and Keiko in Japan, it's basically just me at home."

Ryosuke nodded. "It's been so long since I saw them." He commented.

"Well, I'm thinking of returning to Japan, actually. When they finish school at least." Keito said.

Ryosuke smiled but didn't comment.

"What about you, Yama-chan? How are you?" Keito asked, softly.

He shrugged. "Just fine, I guess."

"Ever thought of coming back?" Keito urged.

"I... I don't think I can. At least not right now." Ryosuke said, sighing.

Keito accepted this and nodded.

"How long has it been?" Keito commented off-handedly.

"So long..." Ryosuke muttered. "And I miss them everyday."

I just want to go home,
Oh I miss you, You know,

-

Ryosuke opened the door and entered his hotel room.

It had been a tiring day, but he was happy that he could see his old friend.

Though tired, instead of lying down his bed, he had went straight to the table and took out a piece of paper and a ballpen.

He started writing a letter to his family. He wrote all about his travels, all about the sights he saw. He addressed each of his children, and of course his wife. He told them about seeing Keito as well. He told them everything he wanted to say.

He smiled as he looked at his family's picture on the table. It was the five of them in the picture, plus Yumi's cat, Saffron. Yumi was only fourteen then, Yuta sixteen, and Aki was twenty-three. It was taken during his last Christmas in Japan.

Looking back at his letter, he took another piece and continued.

He realized he had written five pages all in all. It was a normal thing, he always wrote around this length. Just goes to show how much he misses them.

Looking at the letters, he chuckled as another memory filled his mind.

Aki's seventeenth birthday.

It was as if it was just yesterday.

Ryosuke and Mirai had baked the cake for Aki's birthday together that year. Aki was then in his second year in high school and he invited all of his friends from Horikoshi.

Ryosuke had remembered how stranged his son had acted just before his classmates arrived. He looked flushed, and he was fidgeting.

When their guests arrived, he found out why.

He knew it all too well. The flashy clothes from Chii his son swore he'd never wear, the perfume, the secret glances.

His son was in love.

And it was to Aiba Momoka, no less. Aiba-kun and Becky-san's youngest daughter, who incidentally, is Aki's sempai in Horikoshi.

Everything went well until the blowing of the cake.

It all started with Yumi's question.

"Aki-nii, can I blow your candles?" She asked sweetly.

One look at Aki's face and Ryosuke knew his answer. His oldest did always had a soft spot for his youngest. He could never say no to his little sister.

But then Yuta had moved forward, too and said,

"Yumi! You did that last year, too! I wanna blow them this time!" He complained, pulling Yumi away from the cake.

A fight broke out and Yuta and Yumi started pushing each other while Aki, ever the responsible, tried to calm them both down, saying loudly that they could do it together.

But Yumi nor Yuta wouldn't have this. Yumi started crying, and Yuta started shouting in exasperation and bitterness saying Yumi always gets what she wanted.

Mirai and Ryosuke tried to intervene, but before they could approach them, Yuta had ran towards the cake, and Yumi shrieking, ceased Yuta's legs causing Yuta to topple over. Aki tried to catch him and he did, but this result in Aki diving face first in his own cake.

Everyone went quiet.

Aki silently stood up. Both Yuta and Yumi looked at him sheepishly. Aki didn't react at once.

He looked around him. His cake was ruined, his friends were staring at him, and his siblings had started blaming each other.

Ryosuke was surprised with what happened next.

For the very first time, Aki had glared at his siblings and walked out their dining room.

Undeniably shocked, Yumi had started crying again and this time, Yuta also joined in. They had never seen their oniichan really angry before.

Ryosuke had moved towards them and tried to calm them. Mirai on the other hand, had ushered their guest to their living room and offered them food.

When the two were a bit calmed down, Mirai had gently asked them to apologize to their brother. The two had went to Aki's room at once but Aki wouldn't open his door. Yumi, Yuta and even Mirai tried to coax him out but it was no use. After a while, Yuta had thought of writing an apology in a paper and slipping it under Aki's door. Yumi agreed to this at one and the two started making letters.

They slipped it under the door, but they didn't receive any form of response. Ryosuke could swear Yumi would start crying again but Yuta had said "Maybe he didn't see! Let's make another one!"

They had made so many letters with words ranging from "I'm sorry," "Don't hate me," and "I love you." Ryosuke watched his children desparately scribble words and wait impatiently for the door to open.

After at least half an hour, Aki's door finally opened and Yuta and Yumi had stood by his door, unmoving, waiting.

One look at his siblings and Ryosuke saw the anger in Aki's face slowly evaporating.

Finally, his eldest sighed and said, "I've already forgiven you, so stop with the letters or I'll start drowning in them."

Yuta's and Yumi's faces transformed and the two had tackled their brother.

Ryosuke smiled as he remembered seeing those letters again. Aki had kept them in a clear book. He really loves his siblings dearly.

He sighed as he looked at his own pile of letters never sent to his family.

And I've been keeping all the letters,
That I wrote to you,

He opened his last letter and read through it. Another sigh esape his mouth.

Even with so many words, it just wasn't enough.

Each one a line or two,
“I'm fine baby how are you”,
Well I would send them but,
I know that it's just not enough,

He folded it up, and tucked it inside an enveloped. He placed it inside the box together with the gifts he had bought for his family. In front of the box written was their home's address... even though he wouldn't send it anyway.

My words were cold and flat,
And you deserve more, Than that,

---

It was a very bright place, he had expected this, but it still came as a shock when he had gotten off the aeroplane.

Another aeroplane,
Another sunny place,

It was very hot compared to the other places he'd visited, but he was glad he was able to go here.

Egypt.

For other people, the country might be consider that it's just a vast of unlimited sand but that wasn't accurate. Just looking down from the plane, Ryosuke had already seen so many interesting place he'd want to see.

He remembered Mirai had wanted to go there as well.

It was their 8th anniversary, and Ryosuke had prepared something special for Mirai. Actually, it was something very special for the both of them.

Mirai was seating in the passenger seat, blindfolded and looking very excited while Ryosuke, he was concentrating on not letting his legs shake. At the least, that would just be dangerous since he was driving.

They reached the place and Ryosuke parked his car.

He told Mirai to wait and he got off and went to Mirai's side. He guided her in getting off the car and then guided her.

It was already prepared, and one of the men had given him a thumbs up signaling that everything was ready. Ryosuke nodded mutely and now guided Mirai up the stairs and into the vehicle.

He nodded once more to the man controlling the vehicle and he started the engine. Mirai's hand tightened her hold in his. He squeezed it back in reassurance and then he let go of her hand to remover her blindfold.

Mirai gasped as she realized where they were. Currently, they were on a hot air balloon. The balloon has just taken off.

They slowly ascended. There was a magnificent view and the feeling of flying was exhilarating.

"Ryosuke! Thank you! This is so sweet!" Mirai squealed looking below them.

"When we're together, I'm on top of the world." Ryosuke said. He was thankful he didn't stutter/

Mirai was about to tease him about being such a cheese as he expected, but she stopped in her tracks and gasped at something she saw below them. Ryosuke took this as a cue and fished for the box.

She gasped and Ryosuke knew he had read his message in the other hot air balloons. She turned to him and her eyes widen when she saw him kneeling, holding a ring.

The balloons said, "Will You Marry Me?"

She embraced Ryosuke and nodded her head breathlessly.

Ryosuke's anxiousness all melted away and he felt as if he was floating, well, technically he was, but he felt even more lighter. Ryosuke couldn't help it. He kissed her. He shed a few tears, too. And then both of them laughed.

Ryosuke put the ring on Mirai's finger.

"You knew my answer even before! Why were you so nervous?" Mirai asked.

"That was six years ago! What if you changed your mind?" Ryosuke had said. They had talked about it before.

"You should have known I wouldn't." Mirai said, but she was smiling. "This is the best proposal ever." she continued.

"It took all my brain cells. I wanted it to be more special than my previous gifts. But I guess we got to use your savings for the wedding since I used up mine for this proposal and for the ring..." Ryosuke said sheepishly.

"What?!" Mirai exclaimed.

Ryosuke laughed. "I'm joking. I already made plans. My savings even cover a house." He said.

Mirai laughed, too. "But I don't really mind using my savings. It was for my wedding."

"Let's use mine. In buying a house, too. But then after that, yoroshiku." Ryosuke said and even bowed at Mirai, feeling very silly now.

Mirai mock-punched Ryosuke and both of them laugh.

It was as they descend that Mirai blurted, "I wanna go to Egypt."

"Egypt?" Ryosuke asked.

"Yeah..." Mirai said. "I've always wanted to go there... maybe for our honeymoon?" She asked, and then blushed, though still smiling.

Ryosuke blushed, too. They were already officially engaged, but it felt surreal. She was everything he had ever wanted, and he couldn't believe he would be marrying her soon, that she would take his name soon.

"I've always wanted to go there. When I was little I've watched a documentary about the country, it was just so beautiful. There were so many interesting place to go." She continued to say.

"I think I'd like that." Ryosuke said, putting an arm around Mirai.

She beamed and kissed him on the cheeks.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to do that with both their works. They had a simple wedding with their families and a few friends. Ryosuke had promised Mirai that they would go together one day. But they couldn't find time. Mirai had said she didn't mind though, that she was happy anywhere as long as she was with Ryosuke and their children.

How Ryosuke wished Mirai was there with him just then.

He shook his head in exasperation. He should just enjoy the place. For Mirai.

I'm lucky, I know,
But I want to go home,
I've got to go home,
Let me go home

Ryosuke sat on his bed as the sky darken. It was already early evening. He had spent the last few hours settling on his hotel room. He would start his tour tomorrow.

He had opened up the tourist brouchure and smiled as he looked at familiar places. It wasn't because he had been there, but because Mirai had shown him these places a few times before. Places she said they have to visit once they were able to go to Egypt.

As he browse to the pages, the familiar sights and artifacts jutted more and more memories of his wife.

Ryosuke clutched at his chest as he felt it once more.

Unbearable longing for his family.

He closed his eyes, but that just made it worst. He could see them in his mind. He wants so bad to see them again. To touch them, to hold them; each one of them. He just missed them so much. It had been years since he last saw them.

I'm just too far,
From where you are,
I've got to come home,
Let me come home.

---

The streets was now covered with a sheet of white.

It had gotten very cold, but the decorations had given the city a feel of warmth.

It would be Christmas in a few days.

Another winter day
Has come and gone away
In either Paris or Rome

Paris looked absolutely beautiful just then, but Ryosuke wasn't tempted to stay.

He smiled as he entered the airport. He had decided to come back Japan. He can do it now.

Ryosuke felt light just then. As if a burden was lifted from his back.

He was going home.

He couldn't believe it had been ten years since he last saw them.

His Mirai, his beautiful and perfect wife; always there for him, always believing in him, always seeing the best in him even at the worst times.

His eldest Aki; ever the responsible, just like his mom. He looked very much like Ryosuke physically, except for his eyes. And he'd definitely gotten his mom's attitude and maturity.

His youngest son, Yuta; his mischievous smile, his overprotectiveness over his family and friends. His jokes that could always get a laugh from anyone even at the saddest times.

His only daughter, Yumi, who anyone can't help but love; always smiling, always sweet, always waiting for his dad to come home and he didn't want to make her--all of them wait anymore.

He was at long last, ready to return home; ready to face what's ahead of him.

He relaxed into his seat as the aeroplane takes off.

It was Paris looking smaller and smaller he last saw before sleep took him.

I've had my run,
Baby I'm done,
I want to come home.

Ryosuke opened his eyes, and unimaginable happiness seeped through his veins.

He couldn't believe he was finally seeing his family.

Mirai, as beautiful as ever.

Aki, now taller than he was, though looking as young as he last saw him.

Yuta, still with his mischievous grin.

Yumi, with her eyes expressing more than what Ryosuke could understand.

They were right in front of him. Finally.

He smiled and turned to his wife.

"Okaeri." Mirai said, offering a hand to him.

It'll all be alright,
I'll be home tonight,
I'm coming back home.

Ryosuke took it.

"Tadaima."

---

The phone rang four times before a young woman answered it.

The young woman's eyes widen at what she heard from the other line and with a thud, the phone has fallen on the floor.

Her father had looked up at this.

"What is it? Who was that?" He asked his daughter.

"Daddy." She called to him.

He stood up at the look on his daughter's face and went to her. "What is it? What happened?" He asked.

"Daddy... It was Aunt Misaki. Uncle Ryosuke... he's gone." She said, tearing up.

Yuto had gone numb.

Yuuka continued talking, now really crying. "Plane crash. He was finally going back..."

Yuto had unconsciously wrapped his daughter in his arms. Yuuka had returned the hug, clinging to her dad and crying.

"He..." Yuto tried to say. "He can finally see them, Yuuka." He managed to say, though his voice cracked and he too, let the tears fall from his eyes.

It was a cold winter day.

Ryosuke heaved the last bag and placed it at the back of the car.

"Dad, I still can't believe you're not coming." Yumi had said, irritated, though her voice had tinge of sadness.

"Who said I'm not coming?" Ryosuke said. "I'll just be a bit late. You know I can't miss the countdown this year, Princess."

"But you can miss our family reunion." Yumi grumped.

"I'll be there as soon as I can. I promise." Ryosuke said as he closed the trunk.

Yumi didn't reply but she still looked sad.

Suddenly she was lifted off the ground by Yuta.

"Yuu-nii!" She shrieked, indignantly. "Put me down!"

But Yuta didn't listen and started swaying his little sister until she was calmed down and giggling. It wasn't hard for Yuta since Yumi was so small. So like her mother.

"Dad will be there so stop acting like a princess." He teased.

Yumi scrunched her face at him. Yuta laughed.

"Come off it." Aki chided gently. "We have to get going, or we'll be late." He said as he opened the door to the driver's seat.

"Kids, you didn't forget anything, right?" Mirai called out, looking a bit harrassed.

"Nope, double-checked everything." Yuta said. "Relax, mom."

"Well, we really need to go now." Mirai said, directing this to Ryosuke. Ryosuke nodded and hugged his wife and children. "Be careful." He told them, addressing Aki, mainly.

"I will, Dad." He said.

"Enjoy your night." Mirai said and peck him on his lips.

He smiled and nodded.

"Dad, say hi to Daisuke and the others for me, kay?" Yuta had said.

"Will do." Ryosuke replied.

"You better come." Yumi threatened. Ryosuke chuckled and swore on his life that he will.

He watched as his family got on the car. He watched their car disappeared as it turned to another street.

And it was the last time they saw them.

Right after the countdown, Ryosuke was called out and was given the unfortunate news.

There was a car crash. One of the car's driver was drunk, just having been from a party. Unfortunately, because of the collision, and because of the slippery road, the other car fell off the cliff, and not one of the family survived.

END.
And if I promise not to feel this pain,
Will I see you again? Will I see you again?
Cause time will pass me by
Maybe I'll never learn to smile
But I know I'll make it through
If you wait for me
And all tears I cry
No matter how I try
They'll never bring you home to me
Won't you wait for me
In heaven?

AN:
-okay, i know i said i'd make a happier yamashi, but the plot is haunting me. sorry. >.<
-some explanations:
~the accident is patterned from Himitsu
~he travelled around the world in hopes that he could forget what happened, but as it turns out, everything reminds him of them.
~the scenes in the story are from different years but in chronological order. rome scene might be just about three years after the accident. keito's scene maybe after five, the egypt in a later year and so fort.
~the sakura-viewing have reference from Yamada's Other Gifts. he had done that as well for mirai, hence mirai's comment, "not original." the proposal is from the same fic, only slightly altered so it was yamada's point of view.
~Keito ends up with Suzuki Airi and they have three children: their eldest daughter Keiko and the twins Akane and Aoi.
~Ryosuke's letter was his means of coping. Sometimes he tries to think that he's just away from them for a while and that when he comes home, they'll be there.
~if we do the math, Ryosuke died around 60. Let's say he and Mirai had Aki while Mirai was 25. Aki died when he was 23 so by then Ryosuke was 48 plus 10 years of travelling makes it 58.
~egypt because my friend is a bad influence. /shot
~made nakajima family very close to yamada family cause i think it really will be especially if it's ohgojima and yamashi. xD
~meaning of the children's name, and their age:
Akiyoshi - means 'helpful child' (since Ryosuke means 'good help' and Mirai means future.)
             - 23 when he died
Yuta - means 'good future'
       - 7 years younger than Aki
Yumiko - means 'helpful beautiful child'
