FYI, it's madaidhean-allaidh.

Curious. None of the modern Irish terms are anything like that, but matad allaid seems to have been one way of saying 'wolf' in Old Irish (or Old Gaelic, as I hear it's called by Scots). And madadh is still the Ulster dialect word for 'dog'.
