I just realized that I'll really have to focus on one thing. I've always thought it was great that I have so many different interests nto pursue, and if one doesn't work out, I'll have all these others to fall back on, but the fact of the matter is, if I don't choose one (or a couple) of them to focus on, I will only be ok or proficient at any of ( Read more... )

lots of non-profits make lots of money :-p, but that's only for the weak of morals. really what you should do is find out what interests you can develop which are in high demand or just incredibly rare. jobs at non-profits can make money, but it'll always be less money than you'd get in the private sector.

you don't have to go "work for someone" to make money in the world. although much riskier, it also can be much more rewarding to work for yourself and to sell your own products or ideas or skills to people. that way you can always be making progress rather than getting stuck in a dead end job somewhere or just "subsisting".
