I need different friends. Not new friends or anything. I have a lot of friends. I think I just need to mix up who I see more, so I don't feel alone when I only have one person to confide in, and our ideologies clash

One: a study I read about a few years ago but don't remember how to find it again, that found that having more or fewer friends does not correlate to mental health, but having more *groups* of friends - that is, different sets of people - does. Their findings suggested (though of course not conclusively) that it is better for you to have several different groups of people to socialize with regularly, than just one group who all hang out with each other, however many people are in that group.
Two: I'm planning my summer roadtrip for early & mid August, and considering coming to the bay area.
