suppose you are alone in your life. further suppose that you are living in the woods, living what a friend of mine once called The Dream. You are self-sufficient, with a space all your own: a house you built and an area on which no one trespasses. Aware of twenty-first century conveniences, however, there may be something you long for, such as internet, AC, a musical instrument you do not have the know-how to make for yourself. Would you trade a redundant or vestigial organ for something you can't make yourself assuming a hypothetical problem-free extraction?
