Thirty-five: Team Sunshine is in ur kitchens, raiding ur f00ds

[It took ten minutes or so for Selphie to convince Zell that breaking rules is okay because this is an emergency. Now they are raiding a kitchen, with Zell on his hands and knees and Selphie standing on his back to try and scramble onto a high counter. Being war orphans, they're a bit mistrustful to strange adults about their welfare.]

'Kaaay~! [scrambles up onto the counter and looks around. Ah-HA! Target acquired! A big plate of cookies sitting out unprotected. Selphie grabs two of the biggest cookies and leans over the counter to hand one down to Zell]

What'd you think we should get now, maybe some apples? You know how bad tummy aches can be after that one time where we ate all the cookies Matron had made...

I like apples! [Zell scrambles around a kitchen, looking for a bag to put things into]

We're gonna pay 'em back, right? After we find my Ma, or Matron? I can remember the address, I'm real good at that!

'Course we will! [turns around and oozes her way off the counter since there was nothing else interesting up there except appliances]

We gotta stick to the team honor an' stuff. [dusts her hands off on the seat of her pants and joins Zell in the scouring]

Right! Team honor. You take that half, an' I'll take this one, okay? [starts opening cupboards basically at random]

Look! I found some Sugar Bombs! [waves a box of cereal about]

[and Sam is staring, since Zell and Selphie are smaller than usual...and that's saying something]

...Zell? Selphie?

[Zell scoots backwards amazingly fast from Sam, a look of guilt and fear on his face] We were going to pay you back, mister, I swear we were! I memorized your address and everything, but we were really hungry and the lady at the restaurant said she was gonna call Social Services on us when we asked for food and... [tears coming in five... four...]

[sldkfsdlkj Sam reacts on instinct, because unhappy kids =/= good. He kneels down so that he's closer to Zell's new height, trying to be less imposing. He smiles]

Hey, no, it's okay. That is you, isn't it? I'm...you know who I am, right? Sam?

[Zell shakes his head] I dunno who you are. How'd you know m' name?

... You aren't mad about the cookies? clutches box of cereal

[Little Minato went home for lunch, and he's pretty sure that these two kids in the kitchen aren't anyone he knows. Cue puzzled face.]

Um...

[Little Zell freezes, then gives Minato an uncertain smile] Um, we're just borrowing some food. We'll make sure Matron gives it back to you real soon!
