OT: Concealer questions.

Sep 30, 2010 21:53

I have been having an awful time getting rid of the circles under my eyes and permanent bruise along my jaw without making my face look odd.

Has anyone tried Eve Pearl Magic Salon Concealer? Its expensive and I've never even heard of it but my friend says every make-up artist in his studio uses it. If you have used it, is there a less expensive ( Read more... )

I have absolutely horrible circles under my eyes. I use Stila's stick concealer. I had the pot, didn't work nearly as well as the stick does. TBH I've had mine for forever, as I hardly use it, and they don't go away, but it goes from "Who hit you in the face with a 2x4" to "you look a wee tired".

Supposedly this stuff covers 100% no matter what the light is like. I'll see if I can get my hands on the Stila stick, what tint is it though? Yellow, brownish or pinkish?

it's called "cover up stick" and I use shade C. I would say it's a yellow/brown? D: I'm kinda dumb as I rarely if ever use foundation (only for special occasions/theater) and just use colorless powder as a base. It's definitely NOT pinkish. It goes on pretty plain and blends. I don't even know if they make it anymore, that's how long I've had it.

Try putting some aloe vera gel on the bruise. Get the purest form you can find - ie, not the cheap gallon jug. :) It's really amazing at clearing up bruises quickly. It might even help your eyes!

The one on my jaw is actually hyperpigmentation, but its purple-ish not brown. I'll try aloe vera on my eyes, I've used Preparation H to reduce the capillary size but it burns like hell if you get it in your eyes.

I use it and yes it works-
but I highly recommend using these three items in your skintone -if unsure they will tell you what you need. I'm NC 20 and I'm medium on each but the photo finish powder- its nuetral.
1)High Definition Dual Foundation
2)Salmon Concealer® & Treatment
3)Photo Finish Pressed Powder
watch her videos and Wayne Goss' video's on you tube on her products-she has an early Dec special each year- it was 1/2 price- everything
Good luck,
MJ

Bobbi Brown's concealers are great, especially her correctors, which are like concealers on crack. Many people use just the corrector and don't bother with concealer because the first one covers everything. It's around $22, I believe.

I'll have to try them, there's a counter near me so I can go have them do my makeup and see how it looks under some different lights. $22 is totally doable too. Thanks!
