I love the kitchen curtains: white duck cloth with cherries, a print that echoes the tattoos on my ankles.  I ended up stitching them by hand, because I have no idea where my sewing machine in the rubble of boxes that are the cairn for my past life ( Read more... )

I know this story. I don't have the curtains... I've pretty much gotten rid of most reminders of my former life. My baby takes up enough attention to drive out most other thoughts. It's been over 7 years since I escaped the last one, so now I don't even get haunted in dreams anymore. Thank you for sharing this.

i got totally stuck on a mental image of the curtains with the cherries, which i know is not at all the point of the entry, but i kept thinking "how cute they must be!". it took me a minute to figure out that you were weaving present and past and that there wasn't really a runaway bride outside the window, just the memory of a former life, but once i realized what you were doing i really enjoyed the way you set everything up.

also, i bet the curtains are really cute.
