Fantastic story.

Dr. Ride was the speaker at my Undergraduate graduation ceremony in December 1990. I remember that I paid complete attention during her talk (unlike many of the other portions of the ceremony) and that it was interesting. She was an engaging speaker. However, I don't remember any of what she actually said. This annoys me. I really did pay attention at the time! Emotions, alas.

I think it's so important to remember that Dr. Ride is not just a role model for women, but a role model for all. I thank you for pointing that out. So many stories and memorials simply state that she was/is a role model for women, and that's only part of the story.
