A while ago I got a bunch of linen from www.fabrics_store.com . It was great, thick, beautiful stuff but, when I took it to a friends house to wash it, so much long came of it that it plugged her drain and flooded her garage (much to my horrified dismay). We won't even talk about the lint in the dryer.

Wow, thats weird. I get most of my linen from them and have never had an issue (although the lint trap does get quite full on first washing). Perhaps there was other things going on with your friends drain and the linen was simply the straw?
