Wow. I've been missing you and alifab's Vegas!verse and all I want to say right now is this update is worth the wait.

I don't even know where to begin to comment because everything was just great, but I love that Finn is taking the initiative to move their relationship beyond the initial agreement of it being out of convenience. It's like giving her the proposal that she deserved but missed out on because they got married in Vegas.

I can't wait for more and really, fantastic again.

Hee! Well, it was your "tears" over on Ali's journal that motivated this finally getting finished/posted, so it's not completely crazy-random-happenstance that you've been missing this and now it appears ^_~

You know, I'm not completely sure Finn sees it as moving things "forward", so much as preventing things from sliding backward. In this 'verse, there's some history there which isn't entirely pleasant - that's why they were so iffy on even keeping the marriage on paper at first. Things got messy once before, and they almost didn't recover the friendship.

And I am lame and I just saw the link to the wedding ring upon the nth reread this morning and.. IT'S GORGEOUS.

The history we're both referring to hasn't actually been made explicit in the 'verse fic yet - it's agreed upon backstory, but hasn't found quite the right moment to emerge into the light of day (if that makes any sense). There is, erm, kind of a scary amount of plotted backstory/future in the 'verse these stories are set within (I'm an OCD World-Builder, and alifab is kind of close to that as well, so we got going and just didn't stop. We know majors, we know grad schools, we know future professions, we know number/kind of children (and if they were/were not planned). It's actually a little intimidating, sometimes, although in the good way!).

*G* Glad you're enjoying the 'verse, and also that you approve of the ring. In keeping with the stated intent, it really *is* the cheapest wedding ring set on that particular site, and in general ranks on the lower end of the cost spectrum. But it also seemed perfect for what he was looking for, and Rachel is so much smaller than he is that he'd shoot for something subtle and delicate rather

I love the Vegas 'verse, as you know, and I loved this as well! You're such an amazing writer; everything you touch is colored with beautiful prose and just the right words to fit the mood of the story. This was no exception...I loved the everyday-ness of them being out to dinner, except that this included a really sweet moment shared between the two of them.

Perfect! I can't wait for more from you and Ali both in this 'verse. ♥
