I thought Peeta was a bit of a Stu. He was too perfect. I really liked Gale. He had more chemistry with Katniss in the few chapters he had with her in the beginning than Katniss ever had with Peeta in the entire first book and half of the second book (I'm in the middle of the second book, so I can't comment any further than the point I'm at). It's a shame it's obvious that Katniss will end up with Peeta :(

I never saw Peeta as a Stu, in first book, he was shown to have talents, but an equal amount of flaws. I thought that the writer was going with Kat/Gale, but I'm glad she didn't because that would be just too damn predictable.

I never liked Peeta. I felt like he sort of forced himself on Katniss. After what he said in the interviews, she had to pretend to be romantically interested in him to get a good amount of sponsers; that was the smart move on her part. But later, when he had the nerve to be offended because she was faking? No. Just...no.
