Despite the fact this book was a flop, her other two books, LAMENT and BALLAD I think are genius, not that you'll read them after reading this first. Those two should have gotten the hype of this one. I mean, authors are supposed to improve with their writing, no? Buttt Stiefvater has said on her blog that the pacing was meant to be slow, not that it makes the characters any better. I read the 2nd in the series, and it actually is a small step in improvement, I felt the writing itself more enjoyable to read than the plot, and she throws a nice big conflict at the end that was bound to happen (predictable) so now I must read the 3rd...
Lol. I have a feeling a friend of mine (who this LJ also belongs too) would love this review. She also read Shiver, and honestly hated it - because, according to her goodreads "deceived" her . And, that's saying something since she has a pretty easy taste.
I keep coming across it, in the best YA books . . . Part of me wants to read it. Even, if only, to see how bad it is. x)
