MOW: Average Girl Trick [2.5/-]|Femme Fetales

Aug 19, 2010 00:21

Most people voted that they were not interested in Group C: The Femme Fetales. I expected this and one person commented asking why there was so much hate for this group of ladies. Now, I'm not speaking for those who commented against them, they have their own reasons for voting. I am just giving my observations of how this links to a bigger issue.

That was a wonderful entry Mel. :) You did it justice, I don't feel I have much to say on the matter. Apart from the ' dumb blonde stereotypes' thing. I am seeing a trend in hollywood with blondes. Pamela Anderson is another one, she is actually very smart (I was shocked too), but she said everyone liked her as the blonde with big boobs, so she played up to it. Much like you said with Marilyn Monroe. Also Reese Whitherspoon (who I like) was remembered more for her legally blonde role than her other roles. I will leave that for a next entry ( ... )

I don't really have an interest in actors and their private lives, hence my apathy toward Jolie, Aniston etc but I agree with what you said.
I tend to like fictional femme fatale characters. I find them way more interesting than the pure princess types. One of my all time favourite femme fatale characters is Ada Wong from Resident Evil (the games, not the crappy live actions). She's gorgeous, bad ass, and has a super hot (good) guy, Leon S. Kennedy, who would do anything for her. As TV Tropes says, "Evil is Sexy." That's probably the same reason why I'm drawn to villains and bad boy characters :P
